Arcane Realms: Mythos

Mythos brings creatures from myths and folk tales into the Overworld you already know. It adds no new biomes and no dungeons: the kodama live in your forests, the pegasi graze in your meadows and the griffins nest on your mountains. Each creature does something to the world around it.

Mythos is an addon for Arcane Realms.

Creatures

• Kodama: tree spirits that tend their woods, bless saplings and hide inside their tree when frightened. Harm their woods and they call the roots against you.
• Cockatrice: a rooster with a serpent’s tail whose glare turns you to stone. Look away, or raise a shield to throw the glare back.
• Pegasus: winged horses that take off as a herd when startled, and leave springs where they land. Tame one with a Golden Bridle while it drinks, and fly.
• Knocker: the goblin of the deep mines. It never attacks, but strike it and it plays a trick on you before sinking into the stone.
• Griffin: pairs that guard their nests on the high peaks. Take an egg, raise the chick, and ride the adult through the sky.

Bosses

• Forest Elder: a giant of living oak asleep in an ancient oak. Cut its trees, harm its kodama or lay a Forest Wreath on its altar and it tears itself out of the wood. It fights with roots and thorns, and drains the forest to heal. Three days after it falls, it grows back.
• Crystal Dragon: an endgame dragon asleep in a crystal grotto beneath the mountains. Its ice armor shatters halfway through the fight. Its scales make the Crystal Scale armor and the Crystal Dragon Sceptre, a catalyst with five spells.
