Adventurer’s Harness

Adventurer’s Harness straps a set of triple-jointed mechanical arms to your back and puts them to work.

Worn in the chest slot, the harness carries four to six arms that dig out whole areas, build shapes for you, carry you up walls and across ceilings, swing you over ravines on a grappling cable, and launch you forward like a slingshot. The Netherite Warrior’s Harness even fights beside you.

The arms are machines. They burn furnace fuel, they do what you tell them, and nothing else.

Each tier adds an arm, a bigger selection, more reach and faster digging (iron, diamond or netherite tool speed). The Netherite Warrior’s Harness is a Netherite Harness fused with a Netherite Chestplate: it has the chestplate’s armor and unlocks Combat Mode.

• Mining Mode: Click a block and an arm drills it. Hold and drag to mark a whole box, then let go and the arms dig it out together. Drops go straight into your inventory, with your tool’s Fortune or Silk Touch.
• Building Mode: Pick a shape (Filled or Hollow Plane, Filled or Hollow Circle, Stairs), click its points while a preview follows your cursor, and the arms place the blocks for you.
• Climbing Mode: The arms become legs. Walk up walls and hang from ceilings like a spider. Run out of fuel and the legs let go one at a time instead of dropping you at once.
• Grapple Swing: Shoot an arm’s head at a block up to 32 blocks away and swing on the cable. Jump reels in, Sneak lets cable out. Tap the key instead to zip straight to the hook.
• Slingshot: Hook on, hold Sneak on the ground to pull the cable taut, add a second hook with right-click, then let go to launch yourself.
• Combat Mode: On the Warrior’s Harness, the arms strike nearby enemies with the weapon you give them, enchantments included.
• Harness Inventory: A Tool slot, 12 block slots for building, and a Weapon slot on the Warrior’s Harness.
• Built-in Guide: Every ability is explained in game, using your current settings.

Every harness has three fuel slots that work like a bundle: right-click the harness with fuel on the cursor to load it.

• Anything that burns in a furnace works, modded fuels included. Lava buckets give their bucket back.
• One coal digs 80 blocks or keeps Climbing Mode running for 80 seconds.
• The item bar, the tooltip and a gauge next to your hotbar show how much is left.

1. Craft an Iron Harness Arm from Iron Ingots, a Sticky Piston and a Redstone Repeater.
2. Craft the Iron Adventurer’s Harness from four Iron Harness Arms, a Furnace, String and Leather.
3. Load some coal, put it on, and press X to open the Harness menu.

Diamond Harnesses use Diamond Harness Arms and a Blast Furnace. Netherite is a Smithing Table upgrade, and the Warrior’s Harness adds a Netherite Chestplate and a Nether Star. Every recipe shows in JEI. Want to know more? Press Guide in the Harness Inventory.

Almost every number is a setting: costs, reach, dig speed, swing and slingshot strength, and more. World settings are synced to everyone on a server, and visuals, sounds and timings are per player. Change them in game under Mods > Adventurer’s Harness > Config, or with the gear on the Harness Inventory.

• Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.265 or newer for the 1.21.1 version of the mod
• Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47 or newer for the 1.20.1 version of the mod
• Install it on both the client and the server.
• Curios (optional): wear the harness in the Curios body slot and keep your chestplate. Only one harness can be worn at a time.
