AccessMC

AccessMC is an accessibility-focused Minecraft mod designed to help make the game more inclusive of disabled people. It adds mobility aids, including manual and powered wheelchairs, alongside the TalkPad: an in-game communication aid inspired by real-world AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices.

💙 Why AccessMC?

Disabled people play Minecraft too.

Mobility aids and communication devices are part of everyday life for many people, yet they are rarely represented in games. AccessMC aims to help change that by bringing wheelchairs and other tools into Minecraft.

The goal is simple: make disability representation more visible and help make Minecraft a more inclusive place for everyone.

5 powered wheelchairs offer another mobility option, bringing powered mobility aids into Minecraft.

💬 TalkPad – Communication Aid

Inspired by real-world AAC devices, the TalkPad allows players to select words and build messages to send through Minecraft chat.

Communication should not be limited to spoken words. The TalkPad brings an alternative way for players to express themselves in-game and helps represent communication aids used by disabled people in everyday life.

AccessMC is about more than adding new items. It is about making disabled people and their assistive technology more visible in Minecraft, helping players build worlds and communities where accessibility belongs.

🔮 Planned Features

The following features are planned for future development and are not necessarily available in the current release:

• A full for the TalkPad: Type custom messages instead of relying only on preset words.

• Expanded wheelchair options: Larger powered wheelchairs and additional mobility choices.

• Walking sticks: Another mobility aid for players.

• Mobility scooters: More options for representing different mobility needs.

• Soul Power system: An optional system provided through AccessLib, where food, drinks and rest are intended to recharge a wheelchair’s power and other powered related products in the future

Features and development plans may change as development continues.

🧩 AccessLib Integration

AccessMC is intended to work as a standalone mod, so you can use its core features without AccessLib.

AccessLib is planned to provide additional functionality, including the Soul Power system and shared features for related projects. Without AccessLib, the optional Soul Power functionality will not be available.
