Worlds of the Wars: Extinguishing the Sun

The Sun has gone out. Under an eternal eclipse the north froze, the cities fell silent and the dead woke up first. A hand-mapped 4224 x 2304 adventure world for Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.1, fully vanilla: no mods required.

Locations

• Sky Citadel: a floating castle with furnished halls, linked to smaller islands by suspension bridges.
• Eclipse Heart: a lava funnel with a three-armed spiral and the Eye at its core.
• Cult Castle: double walls with towers, a keep and a sanctuary on red earth.
• Abandoned City: city walls, a cathedral with a crypt, a fortress and about 185 ruined houses.
• Frozen City: a palace, ice spires, a temple, about 135 furnished houses and an ice lighthouse.
• Frozen Wastes, Ice Mountains, Ash Valley, Dark Forest, Rotten Forest, Fire Rift, Dark Isle: 13 custom biomes, each with its own sky, fog, particles and music.

Underground

• Two levels of catacombs: the Overseer’s Hall, the Spider Lord’s lair, the Dark Lake, a Labyrinth, an Ancient City, a Pharaoh’s tomb and a dragon asleep on its hoard.
• Caves: the Warm Haven, a mining settlement and a mushroom village deep underground, an abandoned mine, a spider nest, a bandit hideout, a flooded grotto, the Deep Dark and the fiery depths.

On the surface

• Villages, bandit outposts and towers, barrows, a mountain monastery, a broken observatory, a druid circle, drowned lighthouses and many more ruins.
• Villagers, guards and named bosses with their own gear.
• Lore books that tell what happened on the day of the Eclipse.

Features

• Bundled resource pack: the sun is a ring of fire.
• All in-world texts (names, books, labels) are translated: English and Russian, picked by your game language.
• Location labels hang over the map; /function eclipse:unlabel removes them.

Installation

1. Unzip the Extinguishing the Sun folder into .minecraft/saves.
2. Start Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.1, open the world and accept the world resource pack.
3. Servers: see README.txt inside the archive.
