Throwable TNT

Lit TNT doesn’t have to be a death sentence. Grab it and throw it before it blows.

How it works

• Pick up: right-click a lit (primed) TNT.
• Carry: the TNT floats in front of you, lower right. The fuse keeps ticking.
• Throw: right-click or left-click to toss it forward a random 3-5 blocks.

Hold on too long and it goes off in your hands.

Details

• Works on any primed TNT, including TNT lit by chain reactions.
• Throws follow the direction you’re facing on a fixed arc, whatever your pitch.
• Short cooldown after pickup and after a throw, so holding right-click doesn’t instantly re-grab or re-throw.
• While you carry TNT, any click throws it, so you can’t mine or attack until you let go.
• Other players can’t take TNT you’re carrying.
• If you die while carrying TNT, it drops.
• Multiplayer-friendly: each player carries their own TNT.

Installation

1. Download Throwable TNT.zip.
2. Put it in datapacks folder.
3. Run /reload (or restart the world/server).

Do not unzip it. Keep it as a .zip.

Compatibility

• Minecraft Java Edition 1.21+
• Datapacks don’t work on Bedrock.
• Adds a few scoreboard objectives (tt_*) and marks TNT and invisible interaction entities with tt_* tags. It shouldn’t conflict with other packs.
