Runic Roots

A port of Otectus‘ Runic Races mod, bringing over all the Origins races in to Townstead roots, and adding additional appearance and variety to create full villages of the various Runic Roots.

All races share the humanoid species. Each is a lineage of the people (ancestry) it is born into:

Revenants are ageless and bear no children. The Draconic hatch from eggs in clutches of two. Half-human children are named Half-Elf, Half-Dwarf, Half-Fae, Half-Demon, Half-Dragon, Half-Cat and so on, and look it: a human body with their other side’s mark, such as an elf’s ears, a dwarf’s beard, a demon’s horns and tail. Half-beasts, whatever their other half, have a person’s face and the beast’s ears, tail, horns or wings, in the colour of their hair where the beast’s were fur; a half-cat half-elf has either cat ears or elf ears. They still carry the rest of that blood, so their children can take after it.

Install alongside Townstead’s Classic Fantasy pack in any order and the races adapt on their own: Runic elves and dwarves are filed under the Classic Elf and Dwarf ancestries (keeping their own looks), the Demon under Tiefling, and Half-Elf, Half-Dwarf and Half-Demon take Classic’s names. Where both packs have a race of the same name, Townstead tells them apart: Classic High Elf and Runic High Elf.

With Skeleton Folk installed, the Skeleton joins the Skeletownies and wears their skeleton body.
