Reloadable Totem

This datapack adds a “reloadable_totem”.

The reloadable_totem can be charged using a “charger” by consuming totem_of_undying.

(Up to 16 totems can be charged.)

It is also possible to avoid the void death by consuming 2 charges.

It supports multiplayer.

Recipe:

reloadable totem:

• totem_of_undying x2 – x9 (shapeless) -> “reloadable_totem” (charged: 2 – 9)

charger book:

• amethyst_shard x4 + book (shaped) -> “charger_book”

Summon “charger”:

1. Place a glow_item_frame on the side of a lectern.
2. Place a “charger_book” inside the frame.

Load totem:

By right-clicking on the “charger” while holding the reloadable_totem, you can use one totem_of_undying from your inventory to increase the reloadable_totem’s charge by 1.

When uninstalling the datapack, please run this function before removing the files.

Customisation:

reload_totem.mcfunction : default. If the offhand is empty, reloadable_totem is placed in the offhand.

reload_totem.mcfunction.in_mainhand : If the mainhand is empty, reloadable_totem is placed in the mainhand.

(The files are located in data/rl_totem/function/totem/.)

• If you want to use this, please rename the file reload_totem.mcfunction to reload_totem.mcfunction.in_offhand, and rename the file reload_totem.mcfunction.in_mainhand to reload_totem.mcfunction.

Notes:

In multiplayer:

• In multiplayer, if any players were not logged in when the data pack was installed and join the world afterwards, please run /function rl_totem:load when they first join the world. (This is to add the necessary scoreboards to the player.)

Usage notes:

• Right-clicking on the charger will still work even while sneaking. Please be careful when placing blocks near a charger, for example.

• If you fall into the void while holding a reloadable_totem with a charged value of 2 or more in your offhand and a totem_of_undying with edited NBT (such as one with a custom name) in your mainhand, the NBT of the totem_of_undying in your mainhand will be reset.

Conflicts:

• Do not install this data pack alongside other data packs that have features to prevent death in the void.

A conflict may occur.

• If you fall into the void while holding a reloadable_totem with a charged value of 2 or more in your offhand and an item with death_protection (added by a data pack other than this one) in your mainhand, the reloadable_totem may not function correctly.

• This datapack uses scoreboards and tags with names beginning with “rl_totem.“.

There is a possibility of conflicts with other datapacks that use the same names.
