Hallowed ‘Mons

Heads Up

While playing with the mod I learned that Hallowed Houndoom cannot spawn at nether fossils or at ruined portals. With the mod and the datapack installed Houndoom can spawn. Datapack and Resource Pack should work as normal.

Introduction

Happy Halloween 2026!

I had an idea to make some Halloween inspired variations of some fitting Pokemon.
There are currently 9 Pokemon implemented with a spooky variant:

• Gastly
• Haunter
• Gengar
• Mimikyu
• Noibat
• Noivern
• Houndoom
• Gothitella
• Spiritomb

More may be added in the future.

Spawn Locations

The above mentioned Pokemon can naturally spawn where you normally find them in the world.
These Hallowed variations were each given an extra spawn condition:

• Mimikyu can spawn near pumpkins
• Noibat and Noivern can now spawn in forests at night
• Gothitella can spawn in villages at night
• Spiritomb can spawn near pumpkins at night
• Houndoom can spawn near nether fossils

Cosmetics

These new forms can be cosmetically applied, and found naturally in the wild.

A Reaper Cloth can be given to a Pokemon to hold in the cosmetic slot to give them these nice costumes.

• Gastly, Haunter, Gengar appear more like a generic ghost
• Gothitella resembles a spirit apparition
• Houndoom had its organs, tissue, and skin removed
• Mimikyu has a scarecrow costume
• Noibat and Noivern looks more like bats
• Spiritomb has left its rock and found a pumpkin

New ‘Mons

The new variations were given a new ability and/or a stat change to match their aesthetic.

• Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar were given the Clear Body ability
• Mimikyu had its Defense increased to 104
• Noibat and Noivern were given the abilities: Technician, Infiltrator, and Tinted Lens
• Noivern has slightly lowered Defense and Special Defense but increased Special Attack
• Houndoom was given the Sheer Force ability
• Gothitella had its Health increased to 80, and was given the the abilities: Infiltrator, Wandering Spirit. Gothitella kept Shadow Tag
• Spiritomb had its Health increased to 65, and was given the ability Magic Guard. Spiritomb kept Infiltrator

Pokemon with the cosmetics are not given the changes. The changed Pokemon spawn naturally in the world.
