About Datapack
Chainmail Armor Crafting allows you to craft chainmail armor from chains. Those are the recipes that went missing during Minecraft development after adding chains. This datapack is here to add them!
Since Minecraft 1.20.5 crafting chainmail armor with CAC will result in getting a “Sturdy” variant that is a bit better than iron armor. This change is meant to recompensate the higher cost of crafting (1 chain is 1.(2) iron ingot). This means that chainmail armor crafted by the player is ranked between iron and diamond tier. The whole set of sturdy chainmail armor will give you 8 armor points on the HUD (the bar above hearts). For reference – iron set gives 7.5.
Recipes
This datapack adds 4 new recipes that allow you to craft the set of chainmail armor using already existing in-game chains.
Advancement
After crafting a whole set of chainmail armor, you will be rewarded with advancement and additional 20 XP.
Future datapack support
I plan on updating this datapack once new full releases of Minecraft comes out.
