♠️ Minecraft Physical Blackjack Datapack

Experience Blackjack in Minecraft like never before! This datapack transforms the classic card game into an interactive, physical board game. Players draw cards by stepping on pressure plates and physically place them into item frames to build their hands. Perfect for player-run casinos on multiplayer servers!

Disclaimer: This datapack requires a player with operator permissions (/op) to set up, as it uses command blocks. maximum 2 players

🎮 How to Play & Setup (READ THIS CAREFULLY)

SETUP: The Dealer (Operator) Must Do This

1. Get a Command Block: /give @s command_block
2. Place the Command Block and enter the command: function bj:blackjack
3. Activate it: Place a pressure plate on top of the command block. This is the “Draw Card” button.
4. Set the Table: For each player, place down 6 normal (non-glowing) item frames. These will hold the players’ cards.

The game table is now ready!

PLAYING THE GAME: For All Players

1. Start the Game: A player steps on the pressure plate. This gives them their first face-down card (a light purple, “Epic” item with obstructed text).
2. Place Your Card: Take the face-down card from your inventory and place it into one of your item frames.
3. Take Turns: Players take turns stepping on the pressure plate to draw new cards (which are yellow “Uncommon” items). Place each new card into your item frames to build your hand.
4. When You Want to Stay: If you think your hand is strong enough and you don’t want to draw more cards, you must reveal. Hold your face-down card in your main hand and run the command: /function bj:reveal
5. Determine the Winner: Once all players have revealed, compare the total values of your hands. The player closest to 21 without going over wins!

RESETTING THE GAME

After a round is over, an operator must run the following command to reset the game and clear all cards:
/function bj:reset

✨ Features & Notes

• Physical Gameplay: Draw cards by stepping on a pressure plate and manually place them into item frames. This is a board game inside Minecraft!
• Authentic Card Design: Face-down cards are a light purple color (Epic rarity) with hidden text. Drawn cards are yellow (Uncommon rarity) and show their value.
• Multiplayer Fun: Designed for multiple players to compete against each other around a single table.
• No GUI, All Immersion: The game uses items, item frames, and commands for a purely diegetic experience.

❗ Important Requirements

• Operator Needed: This datapack requires at least one player with operator (/op) permissions to set up the command block and run the reset function.
• Minecraft Version: Designed for Minecraft 1.21.4,1.21.5.
• Game Knowledge: Players need to know the basic rules of Blackjack (counting to 21, etc.).

🔧 Installation

1. Download the blackjack.zip file from this page.
2. Open your Minecraft world’s folder (saves/Your World Name).
3. Place the downloaded blackjack.zip file directly into the datapacks folder.
4. Type /reload in-game or restart your world.
