NoteBlockDisplay

NoteBlockDisplay makes note blocks easier to read by showing their instrument and note block-state values on the top face. Since version 1.1.0, it also displays repeater delay settings and states.

Note block displays

• Covers 20 block-based instrument types and all 25 note values (0–24), for 500 combinations.
• Changes only the top face; the other faces keep the vanilla note block texture.
• Uses a different texture for each instrument and note combination.

Repeater displays

• Large seven-segment numbers 1–4 show the selected delay in redstone ticks (2, 4, 6, or 8 game ticks). The numbers remain clearly visible whether the repeater is powered or unpowered.
• Direction markings point toward the signal output.
• Four indicator dots show the delay setting and change brightness with the powered state.
• The revised layout retains vanilla 3D redstone torches and the bedrock lock indicator while keeping the number panel visible.
• Covers all 64 combinations of delay, facing, powered, and locked.
• Uses standard resource-pack models and textures; no mods or OptiFine required.

Installation

Place the downloaded resource pack in your Minecraft resourcepacks folder, then enable it in the Resource Packs menu.

Compatibility

This pack uses the Java Edition instrument and note block states introduced in Minecraft 1.13. The ZIP declares resource pack format 15 (Minecraft 1.20–1.20.1). Other listed versions may show a compatibility warning, and they have not all been individually tested. Repeater models are based on Java 1.19.4 vanilla resources. Future changes to note blocks, repeaters, or the resource-pack format may require an update.

Usage and permissions

You may download and use this pack for personal gameplay. All rights to the original resource pack content are reserved by the author. Do not redistribute, repackage, or publish modified copies of this pack. Using it in publicly shared videos or livestreams requires the author’s prior written permission. Please contact the project owner on Modrinth to request permission.

Credits

The text in the note block textures was rendered using JetBrains Mono, by The JetBrains Mono Project Authors. JetBrains Mono is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. No font files are included in the resource pack.

The repeater numbers are drawn as native pixel art and do not use a font. The stonework and colors are visually inspired by Xe_Kr’s redstone display pack and were redrawn; no original reference PNGs or model files are bundled. Vanilla-derived model and track elements are credited to Mojang/Microsoft. See CREDITS.md and licenses/OFL.txt in the ZIP for full credits.
