# 📖 About the Mod

**Gem Sockets** is an equipment customization and combat enhancement mod designed specifically for RPG modpacks.

Breaking away from the limitations of traditional enchanting, this mod introduces a comprehensive crafting system that combines socketing, gem removal, equipment drilling, three-gem fusion, and stat rerolling. Whether you’re wielding melee weapons, wearing heavy armor, carrying an off-hand shield, or using custom equipment, you can unlock dedicated gem slots and freely socket dozens of unique gems featuring stat bonuses, passive effects, and active ultimate abilities. From steady improvements to your character’s attributes to devastating abilities that shake the entire battlefield, every adventurer can forge a legendary weapon tailored to their own combat style!

# ✨ Core Features

## 1. ⚒️ The All-in-One “Gem Workbench” Crafting System

Say goodbye to complicated crafting procedures! This mod introduces a dedicated **Gem Workbench** with its own interactive UI, providing a one-stop solution for all your gem crafting and equipment customization needs:

**[Socketing & Removal]:** Visually displays the current socket configuration of your equipment, allowing flexible gem replacement or one-click removal without destroying the gems, so you can retrieve your socketed gems at any time.

**[Equipment Drilling]:** Use Iron Drills, Diamond Drills, and Netherite Drills to gradually unlock additional sockets on your equipment by consuming Arcane Cores and experience points. Each piece of equipment can be expanded to a maximum of **3 gem sockets**.

**[Three-Gem Fusion]:** Combine 3 identical gems of the same type and quality, along with Arcane Cores, to refine them into the next quality tier. No lower-tier resources will ever go to waste.

**[Chaotic Reroll]:** The highest-tier **Chaotic Gems** come with randomized secondary attributes. Spend Radiant Dust to reroll their secondary attribute types and randomly generated values, allowing you to pursue the ultimate stat combination!

## 2. 🔮 Five-Tier Quality Progression & Three Major Gem Categories

All gems are classified into five quality tiers based on their purity:

**Chipped (I) ➔ Normal (II) ➔ Flawless (III) ➔ Perfect (IV) ➔ Chaotic (V)**

The system covers a wide variety of combat specializations:

### 📊 ① Stat Gems

Strengthen your basic survivability and offensive capabilities with reliable, straightforward attribute bonuses:

**Ruby:** Directly increases weapon attack damage.

**Sapphire:** Increases armor value.

**Emerald:** Significantly increases maximum health.

**Citrine:** Provides a constant movement speed bonus.

**Onyx:** Increases armor toughness, effectively reducing massive burst damage.

### ⚔️ ② Passive Gems

Combat-triggered chain reactions and survival mechanics create a wide variety of tactical playstyles:

**Fire Opal:** Applies the Burning effect on hit, dealing damage over time. Every 5 stacks trigger a fiery explosion with a 5-block radius. The stack limit is increased to 10 to prevent overflow, and any remaining stacks are fully preserved after detonation, allowing the burning effect to continue.

**Frost Agate:** Applies a movement speed reduction to targets on hit, severely restricting enemy mobility.

**Topaz:** Calls down lightning on hit, dealing additional Holy Damage.

**Thunder Quartz:** Triggers a large-scale chain lightning explosion around the target when a skill successfully hits.

**Blue Tiger Eye:** After going 1 second without attacking, gathers a mysterious blue star-like energy. The next attack gains a massive damage bonus.

**Indicolite:** When landing a critical hit, unleashes a wide-area piercing slash against the target and nearby enemies.

**Garnet:** Steals a percentage of the damage dealt as health on hit.

**Dice Crystal:** Has a chance to trigger an additional skill attack upon hitting a target.

**Black Rutile:** Periodically generates cleansing orbs around the player, which automatically target and attack nearby hostile creatures.

**Aegis Jade:** A defensive gem that activates a death-prevention effect upon receiving lethal damage and restores health.

**Silver Obsidian:** Completely negates an incoming hit when the damage exceeds a certain threshold.

**Obsidian:** Periodically recharges and automatically blocks one negative status effect.

**Amber:** Periodically restores hunger points. Its cooldown intelligently pauses when hunger is full and immediately resumes replenishing hunger as soon as it decreases.

**Verdant Crystal:** Creates a field of natural energy that periodically accelerates the growth of plants within its radius.

### 🌟 ③ Active Skill Gems

Unleash spectacular ultimate abilities with a single key press and take control of the battlefield:

**Roaring Stone:** Press the skill key to awaken **”The Roar of the Sun.”** Gold blocks rise into the air as the eight corners of a cube rapidly converge, gathering colorful energy rays. A Nether Portal then locks onto the target, unleashing a 5-second infernal burning assault accompanied by a deep, resonating hum, before ending with a massive shockwave explosion!

**Bedrock Gem:** A legendary gemstone that grants equipment the Unbreakable property.

**Precision Diamond:** A brilliant gemstone refined using eight diamonds surrounding sixteen Arcane Cores. Combining exceptional craftsmanship with immense mining power, it grants the ability to break Bedrock.

## 3. ⚡ Advanced Combat Synergies & Skill Rotation

**Skill Chain Callbacks:** All active skills and damage instances classified as skill attacks can successfully trigger Thunder Quartz’s lightning explosions, enabling seamless skill-based chain reactions.

**Accelerated Cooldown Rotation:** Combine this with Iolite, which significantly reduces the cooldown of all skills on the equipped item with every successful skill hit, allowing for fluid and continuous skill rotations.

## 4. 🎮 Quality-of-Life Features & Polished Visual Effects

**Intuitive Combat Feedback:** Dynamic damage notifications in the Action Bar, skill cooldown indicators, and visual feedback for critical hits.

**Fully Custom Pixel Art Textures:** Every gem features five individually designed quality-tier appearances, each with its own unique pixel-art details and particle effects.

**Friendly Fire Protection:** Area explosions and AoE abilities automatically distinguish between allies and enemies. Fully compatible with the vanilla team system, preventing accidental damage to teammates and tamed creatures.

**Deep JEI Integration:** All Drill recipes, gem fusion upgrades, and Arcane Core extraction recipes can be conveniently viewed directly in JEI with a single click.

# ✨ 核心系統特色 (Core Features)
## 1. ⚒️ 四合一「寶石工作台」工藝系統
擺脫繁雜的合成步驟，模組提供具備專屬互動 UI 的「寶石工作台」，一站式滿足所有鍛造需求：

【鑲嵌與拆卸】：可視化顯示裝備當前的凹槽狀態，支援靈活替換或一鍵無損拆卸，隨時取回已鑲嵌的寶石。
【裝備打孔】：使用鐵打孔器、鑽石打孔器與獄髓打孔器，消耗魔核與經驗值為裝備逐步開闢槽位，每件裝備最高可拓展至 3 個寶石孔位。
【三合一升級精煉】：收集 3 顆相同階級的同類寶石與魔核，即可精煉晉階至下一品質，低階資源永不浪費。
【無序洗練 (Reroll)】：最高階「無序寶石」自帶隨機次要詞條，消耗光輝粉即可重新洗練詞條類型與數值浮動，追求極限數值配比！

## 2. 🔮 五階品質進化與三大寶石體系

全系列寶石依純度分為 破碎 (Chipped) ➔ 普通 (Normal) ➔ 完整 (Flawless) ➔ 無瑕 (Perfect) ➔ 無序 (Chaotic) 五大階級，並涵蓋豐富的流派體系：

### 📊 ① 數值型寶石 (Stat Gems)

穩步強化基礎生存與輸出面板，提供扎實的數值支撐：

紅寶石 (Ruby)：直接提升武器攻擊力。

藍寶石 (Sapphire)：增加防具護甲值。

翡翠 (Emerald)：大幅提高角色最大生命值上限。

黃水晶 (Citrine)：提供恆定的移動速度加成。

黑瑪瑙 (Onyx)：增強防具護甲韌性，有效減免巨額爆發傷害。

### ⚔️ ② 被動型寶石 (Passive Gems)
戰鬥觸發的連鎖反應與生存機制，打造千變萬化的戰術流派：

火蛋白石 (Fire Opal)：命中施加「灼燒」持續傷害，每達 5 層引發半徑 5 格的燃燒爆炸；上限擴充至 10 層避免溢出，引爆後多餘層數完整保留繼續灼燒。

霜瑪瑙 (Frost Agate)：命中為目標施加持續減速，徹底封鎖敵怪走位。

黃玉 (Topaz)：命中牽引雷擊造成額外神聖傷害。

電氣石 (Thunder Quartz)：技能命中時在目標周圍引爆大範圍連鎖雷霆。

藍虎眼石 (Blue Tiger Eye)：脫離攻擊 1 秒後凝聚幽藍星芒，下次打擊造成巨額爆發增幅。

藍碧璽 (Indicolite)：造成暴擊打擊時，對目標及周圍群怪造成廣域穿透斬擊。

石榴石 (Garnet)：命中依造成傷害百分比汲取生命值。

骰晶 (Dice Crystal)：命中機率中獎，觸發額外一次技能打擊。

黑髮晶 (Black Rutile)：週期性於身旁生成除穢光球，自動索敵轟擊周遭敵對生物。

天晶石 (Aegis Jade)：防具守護石，受到致命傷害時觸發免死不屈效果並恢復生命。

銀耀石 (Silver Obsidian)：受到大於一定傷害的重擊時，完全抵擋該次傷害。

黑曜石 (Obsidian)：週期性充能，自動抵擋一次致命負面狀態。

琥珀石 (Amber)：週期性恢復飽食度，滿腹時智能停駐冷卻，飢餓瞬間即刻補充。

翠晶石 (Verdant Crystal)：展開綠意領域，週期性為半徑內植物提供加速生長。

### 🌟 ③ 主動技能型寶石 (Active Skills)
按鍵釋放華麗終極奧義，掌控戰局節奏：

轟鳴石 (Roaring Stone)：按下技能鍵喚醒「太陽的轟鳴」，金磚懸浮升起、立方體 8 角高速匯聚彩塵射線，鎖定目標進行 5 秒地獄傳送門嗡鳴焚燒，最終以震盪大爆炸終結！

基岩 (Bedrock Gem)：傳奇神石，賦予裝備無法破壞特性。

高精鑽石 (Precision Diamond)：八顆鑽石圍繞 16 顆魔核萃取而成的璀璨寶鑽，兼具極致工藝與強力挖掘，賦予破壞基岩的能力。

## 3. ⚡ 深度戰鬥聯動與技能循環
技能連鎖回調：所有主動技能與判定為技能打擊的傷害，皆可完美回調觸發電氣石 (Thunder Quartz) 的雷霆爆炸。
冷卻急速運轉：搭配堇青石 (Iolite)，每次技能命中均可大幅縮減當前裝備所有技能的冷卻時間，達成行雲流水的技能循環爆發。

## 4. 🎮 人性化體驗與精緻視聽
直觀戰鬥回饋：操作欄 (ActionBar) 動態跳字提示、技能冷卻提示與暴擊打擊視覺回饋。
全獨立像素材質：每顆寶石的 5 個階級均具備獨特質感的像素外觀與微粒特效。
友軍保護機制 (Friendly Fire)：廣域爆炸與範圍技能自動辨識敵友，完美相容原版隊伍系統，不誤傷隊友與已馴服生物。JEI 深度相容：全套打孔器配方、寶石合成升級與魔核萃取均可在 JEI 中一鍵查閱。
