Create: Lanterns x Northstar – Compatibility Mod

No rocket and no fuel tonight. Just willpower, and a ring of light. 💚

Seven homeworlds out of Create: Lanterns, ported into Northstar’s stars, one for every Corps that burns, from Oa’s green to Ryut’s scars. Charge your ring and climb until the blue gives way to black, then choose a world upon the chart, and let your will carry you there and back.

The seven worlds

They all come from Create: Lanterns. The bridge just hangs them in the sky, real Northstar planets now, for every telescope’s eye.

Oa, Sector 0, where the Guardians keep the Central Battery bright. Korugar, Sinestro’s throne, where fear is law and gravity holds you tight.

Odym, jungle world of hope, where the Blue Lanterns guard the flame. Okaara, the Orange hoard, hot and dense, where avarice stakes its claim.

Zamaron, a crystal world, where the Star Sapphires fight for love. Ysmault, the Red Lanterns’ rage: blood seas below and acid skies above.

And Ryut, Sector 666, airless, silent, cold as stone, where the Black Lanterns wait. Whatever you do, don’t go alone.

Gravity and air pressure come from Create: Lanterns and are unchanged. The bridge adds a Northstar orbit, temperature and atmosphere for each world. Terrain and structures generate exactly as Create: Lanterns defines them.

How to fly

1. Light your ring and fly straight up.
2. At Northstar’s rocket launch height, Northstar moves you into that planet’s orbit.
3. The Ring Star Chart opens (Default key: N). It’s themed to the ring you’re wearing (Red is red, Black is grey-violet, and so on).
4. Hover a planet to see the transit cost in ring charge. Hold left click on it for a second to travel.
5. To land on the planet you’re orbiting, drop down or select it on the chart.

Drag to pan the chart and scroll to zoom.

Keybind: Open Ring Star Chart, default N, rebindable in Controls. It reopens the chart after you close it, and pressing it again closes the chart. It doesn’t conflict with Create: Lanterns’ ring power key (G).

Orbit height

The bridge uses Northstar’s own launch height, so it’s set by the server’s northstar-server.toml:

orbit height = world build limit + atmosphereBaseHeight + atmosphereThickness + atmosphereTeleportHeight

With Northstar’s defaults (480 + 200 + 1000) and a build limit of 320, that’s Y 2000. This is the same on the Overworld and all seven Lantern worlds.

If allowDimensionTraversal = false, there are no orbit layers, and the chart opens when you reach that height instead.

Life support

A lit ring holds the void at bay, the vacuum, frost and flame, but every breath it grants you costs a little charge, all the same. Let it run dry out in the black and you’ll learn the reason why a wise Lantern packs a suit before they leave the sky.

Compatibility

• This is a bridge, not a rewrite. Create: Lanterns’ worlds, structures and charging rules are unchanged.
• If Create: Cosmonautics is installed, the bridge turns its ring flight off and Create: Lanterns’ own spaceflight is used instead.
