# Shield Sound Fix

On some servers the shield block sound doesn’t play when you’re hit. This mod fixes that by playing the sound on your client whenever a shield takes a hit, so you always hear it.

## Features
– Plays the shield block sound when a shield is hit, even if the server doesn’t send it
– Doesn’t double the sound on servers that already send it
– Works for your own shield and for other players’ shields nearby (within 16 blocks)

## Requirements
– Minecraft 1.21.11
– Fabric Loader
– Fabric API

## Limitations
– Weak hits that don’t damage the shield (less than 3 blocked damage) can’t be detected on the client, so no sound plays if the server doesn’t send it either.
– In creative mode or with unbreakable shields, the shield doesn’t lose durability, so the fallback sound won’t play.

## Installation
Install on the client only. The mod doesn’t need to be on the server.
