AlchyForbidden

AlchyForbidden is a dark magic mod about a rift that grows what you build. You carve the first tier of every multiblock by hand. Set the Rift Eye on the altar, give it what it asks for, and the rift does the rest: a great tear opens over the structure and its next tier flies out of it, pillars rising out of the ground, stairs and arches settling into place.

The altar and its griefs

The Rift Altar works with three essences: Wrath from killing, Sorrow from the dark and from mourning, Sculk Corruption from deaths beside a sculk catalyst. Carry them in vessels or let machines make them:

Echo Resonator: ender pearls thrown round four sculk shriekers make Corruption. Kill a warden beside it and its last tier drains the dead warden’s heart instead

Killing Pit: what suffers in it gives Wrath, more the longer it suffers. It keeps the drops and the experience

Lament Well: every death near it leaves a ghost that weeps Sorrow

Weeping Fountain: turns essences into echo shards, crying obsidian, ghast tears, catalysts and the mod’s ritual components

Link them to your altars with Echo Obelisks and the Attuning Fork, in chains that branch and join both ways. The Rift Knot folds a spawner’s mobs into stacks of up to 64, their loot rolled for each one.

The body

Lie down on the Inscribing Bier and carve the rift into yourself: 46 carvings over seven body parts. Wings that carry you, walking on air, water and lava, a second leap, a second breath, ores torn out by the vein. Each carving makes the others stronger, and they show on your skin.

Spells

The Binding Circle imbues 31 spells into rings: rift bolts, chains out of rifts, a black hole that executes, shadows of you striking your enemies, meteors, plagues and more. Set gems in the rings for cost, cooldown, damage, duration and range.

The Rift Maw

Call creatures out of the rift into an arena you cannot leave, and bind them by killing them. Eleven of them, from a sculk crawler to four bosses fought in a void dimension: the Weeping Chandelier, the Void Golem, the Ossuarch and the Severed Seraph, each with its own entrance and phases. Bring friends: everyone standing on the maw is pulled into the void with you.

Bound creatures follow you as familiars. They level up to 20, learn traits and moves, come altered with rift affixes, and can be fed, renamed and petted. The Rift Bestiary lists them all.

The Grimoire of the Deep

An in-game book (requires Patchouli) written by the mage who found the rift. Its chapters open as you go deeper, and its paper darkens with them.

Everything is configurable

Every multiblock cost, every source’s rate, the fountain’s products, every spell, carving upkeep, the Rift Maw’s odds and arenas: all in config/alchyforbidden-common.toml, sent to players on a server.

Works with any mod’s pipes and hoppers through the normal item capabilities.
