AlchyRift

AlchyRift is a pocket dimension mod for people who would rather not be found. Build a small, crude gate, choose where it leads, and step through into a room that is yours alone, hanging in the void. Nothing grows there and nothing comes on its own: water, food and fuel have to be carried in, so the mod comes with its own way of carrying them.

Rift Gates

A Rift Gate is a small multiblock of obsidian and amethyst. Open its screen and choose one of your rooms, a room a friend shared with you, or another of your gates. The rift tears open in the frame with a blast, the floor takes on the ground of wherever it leads, and walking in takes you there. Walk into any wall of the room to come back.

The Greater Rift Gate is larger, wilder (lightning crawls over its frame, and can be turned off) and its destination can be changed at any time.

Rooms in the void

• As many rooms as you want, named, from 1 x 1 to 3 x 3 chunks
• Grown with Void Seeds (the third size asks for a nether star)
• Shared with any player who is online
• Their own rules: hostile spawns, passive spawns and explosions, each on or off
• Always loaded, so farms and machines keep running while you are away
• Walls of fractured obsidian that tear open as you come near, and an eye in the ceiling that watches

Looking in

Stare into the small rift above a gate’s stabilizer and a living miniature of the room comes out of it: every block, every mob, every player, moving as they move.

Supply lines

• Conduits for items, fluids and energy, each end set to push, pull or stay sealed with the Rift Tuner
• Rift Sieves to choose what passes (the greater sieve can match data too), Surge Crystals to move more at a time
• Rift Ports placed anywhere in a room join the conduits outside the gate to the ones inside, straight through the rift
• Rift Relays link conduit lines without a wire: within 64 blocks for the lesser ones, anywhere and across dimensions for the greater ones, up to 8 links each

The Exile’s Notebook

An in-game journal (requires Patchouli) kept by the man who built the first gate. It teaches every block in his own plain words, and its paper tears and corrupts as he goes deeper.

Configurable

The largest room size, the price of each growth, the ground a gate takes for each dimension (custom dimensions included), how far surge crystals push a conduit: config/alchyrift-common.toml. How far and how finely the miniatures are drawn: config/alchyrift-client.toml. The server’s settings are shared with players.

Requirements

• NeoForge 26.1.2
• AlchyX 0.3.1 or newer (required)
• Optional: Patchouli (the notebook), JEI (recipes), Jade

Works with any mod’s pipes, tanks and machines through the normal item, fluid and energy capabilities.
