NotePad

A real notepad inside Minecraft! NotePad gives you a notepad window that looks just like Windows Notepad, right in game. Write down coordinates, build plans, shopping lists, farm reminders or anything else you need to remember, without ever leaving Minecraft!

Features

A notepad that feels familiar

• Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y: undo and redo
• Ctrl+X / Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V: cut, copy and paste
• Ctrl+A: select all
• Ctrl+S: save
• Ctrl+N: new tab, Ctrl+W: close tab, Ctrl+Tab: switch tab
• Ctrl+B / Ctrl+I: bold and italic
• F5: insert the time and date
• Ctrl+Plus / Ctrl+Minus / Ctrl+0 or Ctrl+scroll: zoom

Pin notes to blocks

Want a note to stay with a specific place? Pin it to a block!

• Use File > Pin to looked-at block, or turn on “Pin new notes to blocks”
• Pinned notes show a small marker above their block
• Point your crosshair at the marker and it opens into a card with the note’s title and first lines
• Markers and cards shrink with distance, so they never clutter your screen
• Visible from any distance by default, or set your own view distance
• Optional: show markers through walls
• Looking at a pinned block and pressing the key opens that note straight away!

Notes that are not pinned are free notes. You can read and edit them anywhere, in any world.

Notes list

• See all your notes in one list, with free notes first and pinned notes sorted by distance
• Open or delete any note with one click

How to use

1. Press N (you can change this key) to open NotePad
2. Start typing!
3. Close it with Escape. Your notes are saved automatically.

Settings

Open the settings from the gear icon in the notepad, or through Mod Menu. You can change:

• The key that opens NotePad (any letter, number or function key like F8)
• Theme, window size, status bar, text zoom and the blinking cursor
• Auto save, formatting, and the Time/Date format
• Whether the game pauses while the notepad is open
• Marker view distance, card style, preview lines, card size and wall visibility

Lightweight

NotePad is built to cost next to nothing! Markers are simple shapes, text is only drawn for the one card you are aiming at, and all the heavier work runs at most 20 times per second and is cached.

Information

• Client side only! Nothing is needed on the server, so it works on any server and in singleplayer.
• Notes are saved locally on your computer, in config/cookienotepad.json
• Pinned notes remember which world or server they belong to
