# Bonk Hammer

**Hit something. It flies.**

The Bonk Hammer is a big, silly mallet. Swing it at any creature and it gets squashed flat, springs back, spins through the air with a trail of stars and a comic **BONK!** pops out of the hit. Hold right click to charge it up for a ground slam, and if you wait until the charge pings, you get a **HOME RUN**: everything around you is shot into the sky and explodes in a giant firework far away.

It is a joke mod. It does one thing and does it with way too much animation.

## What it does

**Bonk (left click)**
– The hammer winds up, and the hit lands on the down swing, not on the click.
– The creature is squashed flat, stretches back out, flies up to about 20 blocks away in a somersault and leaves a trail of stars. A **BONK!** pops out, the camera shakes.
– 3 damage, but **no fall damage** for anything that was bonked.
– Fly into a wall at speed and you get a **SPLAT!** and 2 extra damage.
– After landing, the creature is dizzy: stars circle its head and it crawls for a few seconds.
– About 1.2 seconds of cooldown.

**Ground slam (hold right click, let go)**
– Hold for at least 0.6 s and let go: the hammer comes down in front of you, a shock wave of dust runs out, **WHAM!**, and every creature in the circle pops up and flies away. The longer you hold, the bigger the circle (3.5 to 6 blocks) and the harder the throw.
– The hammer shakes and the view zooms in while it charges.

**HOME RUN (fully charged)**
– When the hammer **pings** (1.2 s), let go. Everything within 7 blocks is shot far up and away in the direction you look.
– About 1.4 seconds later, around 30 blocks away, they **explode in a huge firework show**, then a giant **HOMERUN!** flies across your screen.
– The explosion is harmless to the world: **no blocks are broken.** Mobs die in it (their drops fall where they exploded). **Players survive**, they only get the show.

It works on every living creature: mobs, animals, villagers, armor stands and other players.

## Good to know

– **Be careful with pets and villagers.** A home run kills everything that is not a player, including tamed animals and villagers.
– Needs to be installed on **both the server and the client**.
– Commands for testing (need operator rights): `/bonk hit`, `/bonk slam`, `/bonk homerun`.
– Available in English and German, with sound subtitles.

## FAQ

**Does it break blocks?** No. Not the slam, not the explosion.

**Does it hurt me?** No. Falling after being bonked does no damage either.

**Can I bonk other players?** Yes. They get launched like everything else. They take the hit damage, but they survive the home run explosion.

**Does it work in survival?** Yes, craft it with planks and sticks.

**Can I change the numbers (damage, distance, cooldown)?** Not yet. There is no config in this version.

**Does it work with other mods?** It only touches the hammer and the creatures it hits, but it has only been tested on its own so far. If something does not work, please tell us.
