PathCraft Worlds

Multiplayer for friends with bad ping to each other. A tiny always-on hub where everyone meets, and personal worlds hosted by the players themselves.

What it does

• One Play button. Pick a character, or make one with just a name, and Play takes you back to where you were: a friend’s world, the hub, or your own world.
• Your own world, open to friends. Each character has a world of its own. While you play in it, friends at the hub can visit.
• The hub. A small lobby where everyone meets. The pause menu has Go to Hub and Visit a Friend, a list of the worlds open right now.
• Your character travels with you: inventory, experience, health, hunger, effects, ender chest and worn Curios items. With PathCraft RPG, your race, class and level come along too.
• Character names everywhere. Players are shown by their character’s name, not their account name.

🤖 How AI was used in this project

PathCraft Worlds was made with the help of AI tools, and this is how.

• Design and playtesting: I decided how the hub, the worlds and the characters worked. It was then playtested in depth, by me and by the group who play on it, and changed wherever play showed something was off.
• Code and writing: I worked alongside Claude, Anthropic’s AI, to write the software and its documentation.
• Art: the logo was made with OpenAI’s GPT Image.
• In the game: PathCraft Worlds contains no AI. Its only network connections are to the hub and to the worlds of the players you visit.
