The wild bites back.
Next to the friendly animals now live their wild cousins: grizzly bears and lynxes in the taiga, wild boars and hornets in the forests, snapping turtles in swamps and rivers, rams on the mountains. They attack when you come too close or hurt them, and each one fights in its own way.
🐻 The animals
- 🐻 Grizzly Bear (cousin of the polar bear): rears up, roars and swipes hard.
- 🐗 Wild Boar (cousin of the pig): charges in herds and tosses you with its tusks.
- 🐢 Snapping Turtle (cousin of the turtle): lurks by the water, slow but with a hard bite.
- 🐝 Hornet (cousin of the bee): stings with poison, again and again, and hunts bees. About one in two drops a honeycomb.
- 🐏 Ram (cousin of the sheep): lowers its head and charges in a straight line. Step aside!
- 🐈 Lynx (cousin of the cat and the ocelot): stalks you silently, then pounces.
⚠️ Good to know
- Each animal attacks only when you come too close or hurt it. Hurt a wild boar, a ram or a hornet and the others close by join in.
- Listen: a grizzly roars when you come too close, hornets buzz, and a ram stomps before it charges.
- They live in their own biomes, including those of Terralith, Biomes O’ Plenty and other world mods.
- They mostly spawn when new land is generated, so in an old world you meet them in newly explored land.
- Every animal is fully animated, and JEI has a page for each one.
