Wildscapes!

I’m very excited to bring you Wildscapes! This mod’s purpose is overhauling biomes that seem dull or haven’t gotten much love from Mojang. Our first release is Swampier Swamps!

We bring a completely new and overhauled swamp biome, with breathtaking flora like completely new cypress trees, rushes, duckweed, and a new type of moss! You’ll find floating driftwood, thick fog, and mushrooms to give the swamp a more unfamiliar atmosphere!

Structures

We haven’t just updated the flora, we have also added new swamp villages, along with their deserted variants! You’ll see villages with stilted houses that hang over the marshy waters.

Not just that, the illager cousins get their own little settlement in the swamps: the witch camps. One can obtain a map to the witch hut, but beware! As they’re going to be a much tougher fight!

Witches have gotten an upgrade to their UI, making them harder to hit and subdue. The pillagers, vindicators, and witches all get custom swamp textures and models!

The witch camp is home to their dungeons, where one can find trapped villagers, should you choose to save them. And in the center of the witch camp, you will find a Cauldron of Souls, which triggers the dreaded Soul Harvest!

Soul Harvest

It works similarly to a raid. You need to satisfy the cauldron by bringing down your foes and offering the souls to the cauldron!

A new miniboss: the Abomination also spawns here. A frog which has been mutated and experimented on by the witches, to grow monstrous in size, will hunt you down as you fight the camp. But be careful, its dangerous tongue can pull you into its mouth!

You will also need to be wary of the evoker and the Illusioner. All of these mobs can also spawn in their empowered states, more powerful versions, which also give more souls.

After defeating the horde of mobs, you will be gifted by the cauldron. These gifts can include new armor trims, enchantments, and banner patterns, all of which have been added by the mod.

Killing the miniboss gives you its tongue, which can be fashioned into a new weapon and tool: the Mirelash. A sticky whip that can attach to mobs or surfaces, pulling you towards them, or holding them in place.

Cauldrons

The mod also overhauls the cauldrons, which now function more like their brewing stand counterparts, allowing you to make vile soups that give you potion effects.

The process requires you to heat the cauldron over any hot block, say, a campfire. The boiling water turns sour after adding nether wart into it, which can be mixed with a ladle. You can then add an assortment of items to give you stews with the aforementioned effects.

Three types of effects can be stacked on a soup. The cauldrons can also be used for dyeing and storing potions!

Aesthetic Changes

• Mud bricks, and all their variants in all 16 dye colors.
• Regular bonfires and soul bonfires.
• Spell and Viscose armor trims.
• Slime and Spirit banner patterns.
• Abomination and Swamp Night paintings.

Enchantments

• Elasticity I–II: Extends the Mirelash’s reach.
• Slime Snare: Makes Mirelash hits immobilize targets with Slimebound.
• Multi Jump I–II: Grants one or two additional jumps in midair.
• Empowered Jump I–II: Lets you crouch to charge a leap.

Equipment

• Illusionist Necklace: An item that lets you become invisible and intangible on crouching, letting you pass through walls, and prevent mobs from targeting you.
• Incendiary Bottles: Throwable bottles that create patches of temporary purple fire.
