# Block Race

**Explore, race, and be the first to step on the selected block — before the world slowly disappears around you!**

Block Race turns your world into an exploration competition you can play solo or with friends. Each round, a block is randomly selected: the first player to step on it earns a point. You can mine, craft, and place blocks to reach the target!

Whenever someone scores, **every block of that type is removed from the arena**, including blocks in distant and unloaded regions. Each victory reshapes the world and changes the challenges of future rounds.

## How it works

– **Shared 20,000 × 20,000-block arena**, with a world border and individual spawn points.
– **A single initial teleport**: between rounds, you stay wherever you are.
– **8-minute rounds**, with a timer bar and visual and sound alerts.
– **Persistent leaderboard**, including offline players, preserved between matches.
– **No repeated targets** within the same world.
– **Inventory is preserved, hunger is disabled during the match, and there is a 10-second respawn delay.**
– Interface with a block selection animation and block names in Portuguese and English.

## Two game modes

**Normal:** includes blocks found within the arena and targets that can be crafted from identified resources.

**Natural:** only selects block types that generate naturally in the Overworld and have been confirmed within the analyzed area.

The analysis samples areas distributed throughout the arena and expands as players explore. Blocks exclusive to other dimensions and block types unsuitable for the challenge are filtered out.

## Main commands

– `/blockrace start normal` — starts the game in Normal mode.
– `/blockrace start natural` — starts the game in Natural mode.
– `/blockrace stop` — ends the game.
– `/blockrace ranking` — displays the leaderboard.
– `/blockrace ranking reset` — resets the leaderboard; requires operator permission.

## Requirements

**Minecraft Java 26.3 · Fabric Loader 0.19.5+ · Compatible Fabric API · Java 25+**

Install the mod and Fabric API on the server and on all clients.

**Use a dedicated world for the minigame: block removal is permanent.**
