Keybind Privacy is a client-side Fabric mod designed to protect your Minecraft keybind information from certain server-side mod-detection techniques.

❓ Why was this mod made?

Some Minecraft servers, including DonutSMP, are associated with a technique that uses Minecraft’s sign-translation system to identify certain client-side mods.

This technique is commonly known as MC-265322 (Sign Translation Exploit).

The server can use specially crafted, invisible signs containing translation and keybind components. Minecraft may automatically resolve these components using information available on your client. The resulting text can then be sent back to the server through the sign-editing process.

This can potentially reveal information about installed mods, including mods with their own registered keybinds.

Keybind Privacy was created to help protect players against this type of privacy-invasive detection.
