SkalCore

Server essentials for Fabric 1.20.1, done carefully. SkalCore bundles what a community server needs: homes, warps and safe teleports, moderated and localized chat, and staff tools, with optional LuckPerms permissions. It is server-side only: players do not need to install anything.

Alpha release. The core features are in place, but expect changes between versions. Please report problems on the issue tracker.

Teleportation

• /spawn, /setspawn
• /sethome, /home, /homes, /delhome with a configurable home limit
• /warp, /warps, /setwarp, /delwarp
• /tpa, /tpahere, /tpaccept, /tpdeny, /tpacancel
• /back, which also returns you to the place where you died
• Configurable delay and cooldown; the teleport is cancelled if you move or die
• Safety check: SkalCore will not place you inside blocks or lava, and respects the world border

Chat

• Channels: global, local (radius-based) and staff, switched with /channel
• Private messages with /msg, /tell, /w and /r
• Fully configurable formats using {prefix}, {suffix}, {player}, {group} and {message}; & colour codes; clickable player names; @mention sound
• /ignore hides someone’s public and private messages
• /rules and configurable join messages

Chat moderation

• Message cooldown, anti-repeat and anti-caps
• Blocked-word filter in block or censor mode. It matches whole words and common disguises such as a55, without blocking innocent words
• /mute <player> <duration> [reason] with durations like 10m, 2h, 7d, 1h30m or perm; works on offline players; /unmute
• /chatmute, /slowmode and /clearchat
• /socialspy lets staff read private messages

Staff tools

• /kick, /ban and /tempban with optional reasons. Operators cannot be punished by other players
• /heal, /feed, /fly, each with a separate permission for targeting other players
• /invsee: read-only snapshot of another player’s inventory
• /vanish: hidden from the world and the tab list until you reconnect
• /seen <player>, including offline players
• Every moderation action is written to config/skalcore/moderation.log
• /skalcore reload reloads the configuration without a restart; /skalcore lists the commands you can use

Languages

English, Spanish, French, German and Brazilian Portuguese are included. Each player’s language is detected from their game client, or chosen with /language. You can add your own by placing an xx_yy.json file in config/skalcore/lang/.

Permissions

Works out of the box with vanilla operator levels. With LuckPerms, every command has its own node (skalcore.command.<name>), and the player’s prefix, suffix and group are used in chat. Extra nodes:

• skalcore.homes.unlimited, skalcore.teleport.instant, skalcore.teleport.bypasscooldown, skalcore.teleport.unsafe
• skalcore.chat.bypass, skalcore.chat.<channel>, skalcore.vanish.see
• skalcore.punish.exempt, skalcore.ignore.exempt, skalcore.admin.reload

Requirements

• Minecraft 1.20.1 and Java 17 or newer
• Fabric Loader 0.16.0 or newer and Fabric API
• LuckPerms (optional)
• Server-side only. Do not install it on clients

Configuration and updating

Files are created in config/skalcore/: config.json (options and chat formats), data.json (homes, warps, spawn, mutes) and lang/. When you update, new options are added automatically and your previous files are kept with an .old-v suffix. data.json is backed up on every start, and an invalid configuration never overwrites your files: the previous configuration stays active and the error is logged.

Good to know

• SkalCore replaces the vanilla /msg, /tell, /w, /kick and /ban commands with its own localized versions.
• Vanish and /invsee use mixins. If you find an incompatibility with another mod that touches the player list or entity tracking, please tell us.
