# ChatPlus Staff Tools
**An unofficial fork of [ChatPlus](https://github.com/ebicep/ChatPlus) by ebicep**, with a few small helpers for server staff. It’s ChatPlus 2.7.0, unchanged in look and behaviour, plus the extras below.
It’s client-only and **replaces ChatPlus**: it uses the same mod ID and the same settings file, so your tabs and settings carry over. Don’t install both.
The mod knows nothing about any server. Without a server profile, the staff helpers stay off and it’s simply ChatPlus with some fixes.
## For server staff
– **Right-click a player’s name in chat** for a small menu: Lookup, Message, Note, Warn, Temp-ban, Unstuck, extra commands from your profile, and Copy name. The menu opens over the open chat, so chat stays as it is.
– **Lookup screen:** the player’s warnings, notes and active bans from your server’s own lookup command, with Remove and Unban buttons.
– **Confirm before sending:** anything that changes something shows the exact command first, with Cancel and Send. Send is disabled for half a second, so a double-click can’t send by accident.
– **/mt:** `/mt <player>` opens a lookup, `/mt reload` reloads the profile, and `/mt` shows the status.
– **Settings:** a Moderation section in the ChatPlus settings.
## Safety
– Nothing is ever sent without a click from you.
– Nothing is sent unless you’re on a server listed in your profile.
– Commands go one at a time, with a delay between them.
– The player is always taken from the server’s own click data on their name, never from a nickname or rank.
## Server profiles
Everything server-specific (addresses, commands, how lookup replies look) lives in `config/chatplus/moderation/profile.json`. Your server’s staff team writes it once and shares it with staff. ## Fixes over ChatPlus 2.7.0
– **Translate:**
  – No double spaces.
  – Selected lines get the right translation.
  – Translations are added on the game thread.
  – An API error pauses translation for 5 minutes instead of for the whole session.
  – Requests time out instead of hanging.
– **From ChatPlus 2.8.0:**
  – A memory leak in the chat bar’s elements.
  – A crash guard when drawing chat lines.
  – Copying a message with its formatting works again.
Everything else is ChatPlus 2.7.0 as released.

Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1, Architectury API, Cloth Config API and Kotlin for Forge.
