# Vote Crates

Reward server votes with crates players can carry, preview, and open from their inventory. Build configurable reward tables, issue scrolls that players activate when they choose, and keep undelivered rewards available through an in-game dashboard.

**Minecraft Java 1.21.1 | NeoForge | Client and dedicated server required**

**Development status:** This description covers **0.2.0-dev**. Local build, protocol, dedicated-server, and native-screen checks are recorded in the project. Real voting-site connections, authenticated multiplayer sessions, and selected third-party mod combinations still require validation. Reward operations are currently unavailable in integrated singleplayer worlds.

## Portable crates with visible rewards

– **Carry your crates.** Crates are inventory items. Use one to open it; sneak-use it to preview its configured contents and odds.
– **Choose how to open.** Each type can use an instant result or a skippable animated reel. Batch controls open several owned crates within the server’s configured limits.
– **Keep the same result.** The server records the outcome before presentation. Skipping or closing the reel does not reroll it.
– **Control trading.** Crate and scroll types can be tradeable or bound to a recipient, with configurable stack sizes.

The starter catalog includes **Basic, Rare, and Epic Vote Crates**. With unchanged defaults, an accepted vote grants one Basic crate, plus independent chances of **10% for a Rare crate** and **1% for an Epic crate**. Both bonuses can occur on the same vote. These are configurable development defaults, not a playtested economy.

## Flexible reward tables

Configure voting rewards separately from each crate’s contents. Combine guaranteed groups, weighted selections, and independent bonus rolls. A selected outcome can award a bundle of items, crates, and scrolls.

The editor supports installed vanilla and modded items, an item picker, and copying a held stack with its supported components. Actual third-party item and command combinations need testing in the intended modpack. Previews distinguish per-draw odds, repeated chances, and expected quantities; selections without replacement identify that later draw odds change.

## Scrolls you activate intentionally

Command rewards arrive as scrolls. Receiving a vote, opening a crate, collecting a claim, or trading a scroll does not execute its command. Use a scroll to activate its reward; sneak-use it to inspect the details. A successful use consumes one scroll.

– **Healing Scroll:** Available through the default Rare crate table. Restores current health to its effective maximum. A full-health attempt keeps the scroll.
– **One Hour Creative Scroll:** Implemented administrator template, **disabled by default** and absent from starter reward tables. Its real-time duration continues while the player is offline.
– **Permanent Vitality Scroll:** Implemented administrator template, **disabled by default** and absent from starter reward tables. Its default action adds one heart of maximum health without healing, subject to configured limits.

Administrators can configure cooldowns, use caps, timed repeat policies, conflicts, and supported ending actions. Uncertain or partial custom-command execution requires support review; arbitrary commands cannot be guaranteed atomic or automatically reversible.

## Claims, history, and active rewards

Press the remappable **V** key or use **`/vote`**, **`/redeem`**, or **`/redeem votes`** to open the dashboard. Its five tabs cover Vote Sites, Offline Votes, Other Rewards, History, and Active Rewards.

Offline rewards and inventory overflow remain in claims without automatic expiry. Partial claims retain the exact remainder. First-time-player votes can wait for a verified login; automatic name binding requires authenticated `online-mode=true`. Preserving a received vote does not mean a voting site will resend votes sent while the receiver is down.

## Administration and configuration

Authorized operators can use native screens or JSON configuration to edit crates, scrolls, tables, voting sites, messages, access, and server settings. The custom administration book opens the editor after permission checks; possessing it grants no authority.

Save and Cancel controls, whole-catalog validation, stale-edit rejection, delegated UUID roles, and audited recovery tools support server administration. Reloaded definitions affect future votes and unused items; accepted results and active effects keep their recorded definitions. Optional rotating reminders use configured site links. Client preferences include reduced motion, automatic reel skipping, cosmetic volume, and warning sound.

## Installation and voting connections

– **Target:** Minecraft Java **1.21.1**, Java **21**, tested project baseline **NeoForge 21.1.252**. The JAR declares NeoForge `21.1.252` up to, but excluding, `21.2`; that range does not establish testing of every build.
– **Installation:** Install the same Vote Crates build on the dedicated server and every client.
– **Dependencies:** No additional mod or separate Votifier plugin is required.
– **Voting:** Includes implementations of original Votifier v1 and NuVotifier v2 receiving protocols. The receiver ships **disabled**, and no voting sites or live credentials are preconfigured. Each real site needs manual setup and verification. Hosting must permit the configured TCP listener.
– **Compatibility:** Normal authenticated server profiles are the current identity model. Proxy forwarding, unauthenticated servers, unspecified mods, and external save handlers are not validated integrations.
– **Backups:** Back up world data, playerdata, and the Vote Crates journal together as a consistent stopped-server set; back up configuration and private credentials separately.

## Development and artwork

The original plan is implemented in the current development project, with the remaining validation limits stated above. This is not a stable-release or universal-compatibility claim.
