About this project: Much of the code, artwork, and audio was developed with the help of AI tools, guided by the creator and refined through testing and player feedback. This project also explores what today’s AI tools can help create in Minecraft. It is still evolving, so expect ongoing improvements and some rough edges. An adventure addon for Iron’s Spells ‘n Spellbooks. Journey into the Aether, discover its wildlife and hidden treasures, face the Witch Queen, and turn familiar magic into something more powerful.

This overview describes version 1.2.1. Check the version of your download: older releases may have different content, recipes, and balance.

The Aether is a full terrain-generated dimension with rivers, caves, mountains, forests, and its own creatures. It replaces the former labyrinth world with open landscapes to explore.

Discover seven custom biomes: Primeval River Jungle, Moonveil Forest, Thundercliffs, Emberglass Desert, Runefrost Heights, Star Mushroom Islands, and Oakheart Valleys. Vanilla snowy biomes also appear in the current version.

Build with Aethervine wood and Aetherslate, grow towering star mushrooms, or brave meteor showers in search of Black Opal. Each region offers a different backdrop for your adventure.

Explore Raven Crown castles with guarded halls, treasure rooms, and hidden cellar networks. Underground chambers hold another challenge: Reniar, the Broken King.

The Witch Queen is a repeatable, two-phase boss. Confront the Crown Sovereign, then face her transformation into the Ember Wyvern. Destroy the tower crystals to break her protection and survive a fight that moves between the sky and the ground.

An Ancient Skull, dropped by adult Arcane Spinosauruses, starts the encounter at the castle’s Crown Altar. Victory brings Divine Ingots, Wyvern Scales, and a chance at rare upgrades.

The Enhanced Scroll Forge gives you two workspaces: Craft creates normal scrolls using Iron’s familiar ink, paper, and school-focus system; Enhance combines a supported scroll with a Spell Enhancer, without experience costs.

Craft the station with a normal Scroll Forge in the center, a Spell Enhancer on either side, and diamonds filling the top and bottom rows. Find enhancement materials and Enhanced scrolls in this mod’s structures.

• Enhanced Raise Dead: summon copies of yourself equipped with your gear.
• Enhanced Invisibility: conceal your body, armor, and held items.
• Enhanced Summon Vexes: call reinforcements periodically throughout the spell.
• Enhanced Pocket Dimension: retreat to your personal wooden sanctuary, even during combat.
• Enhanced Thunderstorm: bring stronger storms and allied mounted reinforcements.
• Summon Enhanced Horse (Pegasus): take to the skies on a rideable flying mount.

Advance from Netherite to Opal equipment. Choose normal Opal Armor for protection against spells, or Opal Battlemage Armor for a larger mana pool and stronger magic.

Defeat the Queen and use the Golden Smithing Table, a Divine Ingot, and a Golden Upgrade Smithing Template to upgrade Opal Battlemage Armor into Star Judge Armor. Its full set adds mana-powered abilities, including flight and invisibility, alongside powerful movement options. Dye its cloth to make the armor your own.

Complete your arsenal with Crown’s Oath, the Astral Scepter, and cloaks and scarves that grant fire resistance, faster swimming, or invisibility after a kill.

• Nightseal: 14 spell slots, +300 maximum mana, +20% cooldown reduction, and +15% Enhanced Spell Power.
• Star Codex: 20 spell slots, +400 maximum mana, +25% cooldown reduction, and +20% Enhanced Spell Power. Combine two original Codices once for 40 slots, with pages in both the spell wheel and inscription table.

The Aether has its own wildlife, including Moon Stags, Runefin Fish, Lightning Ravens, Thunder Rams, Oakarmored Badgers, and Emberglass Scorpions, with more creatures suited to its different regions. The Arcane Spinosaurus makes the river jungle a particularly dangerous place to linger.

After dark, beware of Arcane Creepers, the ambushing Assassin, rocket-firing Crossbones, and the Devourer. If a Devourer swallows you, fight your way out from within—or hope someone outside comes to your rescue.

1. Get an Aether scroll from a rare Wandering Trader offer or by defeating the leader of a Broken-Wheel caravan ambush in the Overworld.
2. Use it to travel between the Overworld and the Aether. Travel uses corresponding coordinates at a 1:1 scale and searches for a nearby safe arrival point.
3. Explore, gather resources, and seek out the castles and underground chambers. Their loot supports your spell and equipment progression.

• Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge 21.1.233 or newer.
• Iron’s Spells ‘n Spellbooks and its required dependencies: Iron’s Lib, GeckoLib, Curios, and Player Animator.
• The current 1.2.1 source is built against Iron’s Spells ‘n Spellbooks 1.21.1-3.15.6. Use the matching Minecraft and NeoForge files for each dependency.
• Install the addon and its dependencies on both the client and server for multiplayer. English and German translations are included.

The project is actively developed. For a bug report, include your mod version, dependency versions, and the relevant crash report or log.
