# MATIANE: The Georgian Chronicles

**მატიანე** means *chronicle*. MATIANE brings the myths, history and home life of Georgia into Minecraft, from the giants and dragons of Georgian folklore to qvevri wine and Svan towers.

## The Path of Amirani
Six bosses form a campaign towards **Amirani**, the titan chained in the Caucasus. Every boss can be fought on its own, but each one you slay points to the next:

**Gveleshapi** the dragon → **Myinvarwveri** in his ice citadel → **Kajta Mepe**, king of the Kaji, deep underground → the **Three-Headed Devi** → **Amirani**. **Qorguli**, a cursed man who turns into a beast, roams the forests on his own.

## Creatures of legend
Devi, Kaji and Kaji witches, Paskunji, Ochokochi, Pirqushi the smith, Dali the hunting goddess, Mamberi and his wolves, Apsati, Tkashmapa, Qondriskaci, Dedaberi, Babuawvera, Ali, Kudiani, Rokapi, Chinka, the Golden Fish and more. Some are neutral, some can be tamed, and some trade with you.

## Sixteen structures
A **Georgian village** with Svan towers, darbazi houses and a marani wine house; the subterranean **Kajeti Fortress**; **Pirqushi’s Underground Forge**; the ice **Citadel of Myinvarwveri**; the **Towers of Devi** on rope-bridged mountain spires; **Paskunji’s High Roost**; **Gveleshapi’s Nest** and mountain ruins; **Dedaberi’s Warty Hut**; and more, each with its own loot.

## The Georgian homestead
– **Building blocks:** Svan stone, pink tufa, walnut wood, whitewash and coloured plaster, kramit roof tiles, carved Borjgali panels and the stepped darbazi ceiling
– **Vineyards and qvevri wine:** grow Saperavi and Rkatsiteli grapes on trellises, bury a qvevri, ferment your wine and distil chacha. Drinking it gives everyone nearby **Tamada’s Toast**.
– **Georgian food:** khinkali, mtsvadi, kharcho, churchkhela and badagi
– **Village traders:** Mestumre the Svan host, Mchedeli the smith and Mestvire the wandering bard, who all trade for Colchian gold

## Gear
Historical Georgian weapons (khmali, orlesuli, dashna and more), **round shields**, mythic armour sets, and **Colchian Bronze**, **Georgian Steel** and **Kaji Star-Iron** tiers. There are also mythic enchantments, the chanta (a woven bag), trophy heads and **companions and mounts**: tame a Qursha guard dog or ride a Georgian mountain horse.

## Night and storms
From the fourth day, **Kaji hunting parties** come out of the woods at night. In thunderstorms the **Devi** come down from the peaks, and a Gveleshapi may rise from open water.

## The Chronicle
Collect **Chronicle Pages** with seventeen legends of Georgian myth, in English and Georgian, and bind them into the **Matiane**.
