Going boating in stormy weather? Watch out!

This is my first major Minecraft mod. Just Enough Spouts (which can be abbreviated as “JES“) adds waterspouts that spawn over oceans when it storms in your world. But these are more than just fair weather waterspouts; they don’t dissipate just because of moving onto dry land, and in fact, some are even at EF5-equivalent intensity! They just won’t actually rip up blocks, though.

There also is a new block: the Waterspout Sensor. It emits a redstone signal whenever it detects a waterspout in the surrounding area. Craft it by putting a redstone comparator in the center square of a crafting table, a tripwire hook in each of the four directly adjacent squares, and finally an iron ingot per corner square.

You can even craft special items for spawning each waterspout variant yourself! The EF0 Waterspout Spawner is crafted by putting a hopper in the center square, a bucket of water above the hopper, and some Blaze powder below it. To craft the higher-level variant spawners, you do the same thing, except you use the preceding variant spawner item instead of a hopper. For example, the EF1 Waterspout Spawner requires an EF0 spawner, the EF5 spawner requires the EF4 spawner item, and so on.

You are free to use this mod in modpacks without having to ask me. Just let me know in advance if you decide to develop a remastered version of the mod. If you decide to repost this mod to another site, let me know as well, if possible. Thank you.
