Aquilles

Statues of an ancient warrior are scattered across the world of Minecraft, and each one guards a sacred zone around it. Nearby, an adorable, clumsy mini Achilles tries his best to live up to the legend.

The statues generate on their own in the Overworld, standing on a brick platform with broken pillars and one or two tiny guardians. They are indestructible: no player, explosion, Wither or Dragon can break them. The first person to right-click an unclaimed statue becomes its owner and decides who may enter its zone. Everyone else is pushed out of the area.

🛡️ Nothing can hurt you inside the sacred zone. Hostile mobs can’t spawn, and players with permission take no damage and heal every second. Projectiles trying to enter bounce back toward whoever fired them, and any damage aimed at something protected is returned to the attacker. Your pets, horses and golems are safe too, and nothing inside can be broken without permission, whether by explosions, mobs or pistons.

⬆️ Every statue grows with you. You earn 5 points the first time you find a statue and spend them on its radius (up to 108 blocks), its healing, or the strength of its mini Achilles guardians. The higher a statue’s level, the more perks it grants inside its zone: Haste, Speed, Night Vision, faster crops and baby animals, and even Strength II at max level. From level 25 you can mine the statue and carry it anywhere, keeping all its levels and permissions.

🗺️ Travel between statues. The Map of Achilles shows every statue you’ve unlocked on a medieval parchment. You can give them nicknames and teleport to any you have permission for. The Eye of Achilles goes further: it lets you watch a zone in spectator mode without being able to leave it.

⚔️ New in 1.8.0 “Iliad”: Hector, Prince of Troy. A rare, hostile boss who occasionally appears in plains, savannas, deserts and forests. He hates Achilles and takes it out on anyone carrying his gear. When he drops below half health he flies into a rage, and his war cry weakens nearby players. He drops Trojan Bronze, which you use to craft the legendary gear:

• Sword of Achilles: unbreakable, ignores armor, slows enemies and heals you. Right-click to Charge through your foes, or sneak and right-click to unleash the Wrath of Achilles.
• Shield of Achilles (the Aegis): unbreakable, returns double the damage it blocks, reflects projectiles and releases a shockwave every 8 seconds.

🐣 The mini Achilles wears a red-crested helmet, a bronze breastplate, a shield and a cape. He practices with his sword, trips and lies flat on the ground, and attacks monsters (except creepers) even though his hits only tickle. A fully upgraded statue can have up to four guardians.
