Maniac: Night Hunt

An atmospheric multiplayer horror minigame for Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.1, powered by Forge. One player becomes the killer, while 1–6 survivors search for supplies, restore power, and fight for a chance to escape.

Survive the Hunt

Explore the map and collect fuel, medical supplies, and tools. With only four inventory slots, every item matters.

• Repair six generators, each requiring two full fuel cans.
• Complete an interactive repair minigame to restore power.
• Use a temporary generator-reveal ability to locate your objectives.
• Manage your health, stamina, and limited item durability.
• Unlock the escape hatch, retrieve dynamite, clear the cave passage, and reach evacuation by minecart.

If at least one survivor escapes, the survivors win. If everyone dies, the killer wins.

Become the Killer

Choose a killer with a distinct appearance and hunt down the survivors using melee attacks, character abilities, and traps.

Morok, the Jester of Oblivion, features three signature abilities:

• Aerial Tour: leap in the direction you are facing.
• Signature Act: unleash three homing explosive balls.
• Curtain Call: temporarily reveal survivors.

His traps include an illusion card, a sinister music box, and a grasping ring that holds survivors in place. Survivors can counter specific traps using the right tools.

• GFBS: glTF 1.5.1 on the client for detailed character models

Install the same Maniac version on the server and all participating clients. On a new test world, an operator can create the prototype arena using /maniac arena. Open the game menu with M.

This project is an early prototype under active development. Some progression branches and features are not yet available.
