Build a factory, tend a garden, or spend far too long getting the roof right.

Cogs & Cottages is a Minecraft 1.21.1 modpack made for friends who enjoy different sides of the game. Some people want trains, workshops and clever machines. Others want a little farm, a cosy kitchen and a house that feels like home. There is room for both.

On the Cogs side, build with Create: moving machinery, resource automation, railways, storage and shops. Start small or plan a factory that takes over the valley.

On the Cottages side, grow food, try new recipes, decorate, organise storage and settle into village life. There is plenty to do without building a factory.

Choose from twelve origins: Human, Fairy, Elf, Dwarf, Goblin, Giant, Gnome, Dryad, Merfolk, Villager, Piglin and Enderian. Human keeps things simple; the other origins offer their own abilities, perks and drawbacks. An in-game guide explains them, and the ability display can be adjusted. Several have their own cosmetics, and Gnomes can ride small animal companions.

There are structure-based treasure tiers, optional lockpicking puzzles, plenty of building pieces, and proximity voice chat for multiplayer. Play alone or share a world with friends.

Visuals include Complementary Unbound by EminGT and Fresh Animations: Player Extension by FreshLX. Shader settings can be adjusted or switched off in-game.

The Create-style resources include Create Immersive Aircrafts by nicky__21, Create Lootr by FieroLam, Create Style Sophisticated Backpacks and Storages by Luna, and Construction Sticks Grips by ChosenArchitect.

This release has no questlines. Original Cogs and Cottage quests are planned for a future update.
