TimeOut – Playtime & Cooldown Manager

TimeOut is a lightweight, highly configurable Server-Side Forge mod designed for Minecraft 1.20.1. It helps server administrators manage player screen time, enforce healthy gaming breaks with mandatory cooldowns, and provide an advanced AFK system—all without requiring players to install any mods on their client!

Features

100% Server-Side: Players can connect using pure Vanilla or unmodded clients. No client-side installation needed!
Flexible Playtime Limits: Set daily playtime limits (gametime) globally or per individual player.
Mandatory Cooldowns (timeout): Automatically kick players when their time expires and enforce a cooldown break before they can rejoin.
Daily Midnight Reset: Playtime allowances automatically reset every day at midnight (00:00 UTC) with an optional server-wide broadcast.
Per-Player Custom Limits: Override global settings for specific players with custom daily playtimes and cooldown lengths.
Ghost AFK System (/afk):
- Time Paused: Session timer stops counting down while AFK.
- Invulnerable: Players in AFK become invincible, take zero damage, and gain knockback immunity.
- Floating Safety: Keeps players suspended safely in the air if blocks underneath them explode or disappear.
- Mining & PvE Allowed: Players can mine blocks and fight monsters/mobs.
- PvP Protected: AFK players cannot attack or harm other players.
- Smart Auto-Exit: AFK mode automatically cancels if the player moves (WASD/Jump) or interacts with functional blocks (chests, doors, furnaces, levers, etc.).
💬 Fully Customizable Messages: Configure chat notifications, warnings, kick screens, and prefixes directly in /config/timeout-server.toml.

Commands & Permissions

Player Commands

/afk — Toggle AFK Ghost Mode. (Available to all players by default, Permission Level 0)

Admin Commands (Requires OP Level 2)

/timeout status [player] — View remaining playtime, current state, and limit details.
/timeout limit set <player> gametime <minutes> timeout <minutes> — Set custom daily playtime and cooldown duration for a specific player.
/timeout limit set <player> gametime <minutes> — Set custom daily playtime only.
/timeout limit set <player> timeout <minutes> — Set custom cooldown duration only.
/timeout limit reset <player> — Reset player back to global config limits.
/timeout limit get <player> — View active effective limits for a player.
/timeout reset <player> — Instantly clear accumulated playtime and active cooldowns for a fresh start.
/timeout pause <player> / /timeout resume <player> — Pause or resume a player’s timer.
/timeout exempt <player> / /timeout unexempt <player> — Grant or revoke permanent exemption from limits.
/timeout reload — Reload configuration settings from disk.

Configuration (`config/timeout-server.toml`)

The configuration file is automatically generated in your server’s root /config/ directory upon first launch:
