Ring Progression

Seed-driven progression rules for a distorted six-ring industrial survival world, with Dungeon Rings included in the combined beta edition.

Features

The 2026.10.29-beta.2 combined edition includes Ring Progression 0.1.0-prototype1 and Dungeon Rings 0.1.0-ring1. The progression prototype defines the Black Frost footprint and restricted oil placement, including the existing Y -185 restriction. Dungeon Rings adds Overworld-only structure-start and monster-room gates using the same shared ring API. It does not change loot, natural mob spawning or ores. Other planned progression stages are not advertised as enabled.

Usage

Use the matching server/client integration stack and world-generation configuration. Replace the old separate Ring Progression and Dungeon Rings JARs with this combined file. Do not also install the full Companion or duplicate modules. Both original mod IDs, versions, mixins and persistent identifiers are retained. The release does not retrofit progression settings into an arbitrary existing world.

Original mods and server configuration are installed separately. Their runtime dependency declarations and side restrictions are unchanged.

From Steam & Steel

These components originated in Steam & Steel SMP, our Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge industrial survival server pack. They are available as separate integration releases with the listed original dependencies. Server configuration, worlds and saved progression are supplied separately.

Beta / Feedback

This is a beta publication. The implementation comes from the server integration stack. Local checks verify archive integrity, unchanged implementation/resources, runtime identifiers and declared dependencies; the combined editions also passed native JarJar/FML selection and metadata checks. A new Minecraft startup, multiplayer join and gameplay acceptance were not performed for this packaging.

Report problems in the project comments with the file build, module/dependency versions and reproduction steps. Remove private information from shared log excerpts.

The project icon is original voxel and pixel artwork rendered through the saved V3 pipeline, under BSD 3-Clause. No upstream artwork is included in the icon. Bundled third-party fonts and derivative artwork retain their own licenses; see the applicable notices inside the release JAR. Those resources are not relicensed under BSD.
