CORB (Chandlers Overly Realistic Bridge)

ChansORBridge is a compatibility mod. It adds no items, blocks, mobs or world generation of its own — its only job is to make mods that were written independently of each other behave correctly when they’re installed together.

It’s built around Overly Realistic, a large survival-overhaul datapack that rewrites a great deal of vanilla Minecraft: how tools are made, how food spoils, how logs are processed into planks, and how unsupported blocks collapse. Because it changes so much, other mods routinely don’t line up with it. A tree-felling mod doesn’t recognise its axes. A biome mod’s wood skips its crafting progression entirely. A fishing mod’s fish can’t be prepared on its cutting board. Each of these is a small seam between two mods that both work perfectly well on their own, and CORB exists to close those seams.

Most of the work is done with ordinary Minecraft data files — recipes, tags, loot tables and functions — which CORB loads after the mods it supports so it can extend or replace specific entries. A few problems can’t be solved that way, and those use small, targeted code patches that adjust another mod’s behaviour in memory while the game is running. No other mod’s files are ever modified. Everything lives inside CORB, so removing it removes every change, and updating one of the supported mods doesn’t require touching anything but CORB.

Every supported mod is an optional dependency. Each fix checks that the mods it needs are actually present before doing anything, so CORB loads cleanly on its own or alongside any subset of them, and every individual fix can be switched off in its config file.
