Sable Seat Compatibility

A focused server compatibility addon for Sable seat placement and early world-position checks.

The problem

A world-border or position limiter can inspect a seat callback before Sable’s normal riding conversion finishes. It can then treat temporary sublevel storage coordinates as a real-world position and move the passenger toward the world border.

Why it happens

Sable normally finishes the riding conversion after the seat callback. An intervening position check can run while the passenger coordinates still refer to sublevel storage.

Scope of the fix

Wraps the seat callback for a real mounted passenger on a known Sable sublevel.
Uses Sable’s own eye-anchor conversion before passing coordinates to the existing callback.
Leaves ordinary world positions, other passengers and unrelated plots unchanged.
Skips its hook when our BorderGuard R4 already provides the same correction.

Ship physics, world-border sizes and enforcement, access permissions, seating offsets and ordinary vehicle behaviour retain their original rules. The addon adds no border exemptions and includes no world-border enforcement of its own.

Install on the dedicated server. Clients keep the original Sable packet format. This addresses the specific early-coordinate-check conflict; it is not a general fix for every Sable or Aeronautics crash. Existing BorderGuard R4 installations already include this correction.

From Steam & Steel

The addon originated in Steam & Steel SMP, our custom Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge server modpack. It is available independently of the full modpack.

The original required mod is installed separately. SteamSteelCore and the full Steam & Steel modpack are not required.

Beta / Feedback

This is a beta release. It originated in problems encountered on our Steam & Steel SMP server within a specific modpack. The public addon has local checks; compatibility with other modpacks still needs feedback.

If you encounter a crash, an error or unexpected behaviour, please leave a comment with your Minecraft, NeoForge, original-mod and addon versions and the relevant error or crash report, plus steps to reproduce the problem. We will investigate reported bugs and work on fixes.

The native Create seat callback, Sable riding conversion and the extracted addon are checked against the unchanged native placement result, including rotations, repeated placement, dismount and duplicate-correction controls. Full multiplayer gameplay remains a separate verification step.
