Overview

Wood Stairs is a vanilla-friendly Fabric mod for Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3 that combines plank step surfaces with natural bark sides. It adds another building option for cabins, roofs, furniture, supports, trim, and other wooden structures.

Features

12 vanilla wood families and 14 Biomes O’ Plenty wood families when BOP is installed.
Straight, inner-corner, and outer-corner stairs with normal stair placement, upside-down placement, and waterlogging.
Consistent plank tops and vertical risers, with bark on the exterior sides.
Optional built-in Wood Stairs (Alternative) resource pack for bark on the vertical risers while keeping plank step tops.
Optional built-in Wood Stairs (Programmer Art) resource pack for a more classic look.

Versions and installation

Minecraft 26.3: Wood Stairs 1.1.0, Java 25, Fabric Loader 0.20.1+, and Fabric API 0.165.0+26.3.
Minecraft 26.2: Wood Stairs 1.0.0, Java 25, Fabric Loader 0.19.3+, and Fabric API 0.156.0+26.2.

Download the mod JAR for your Minecraft version and place it in your mods folder, replacing the previous Wood Stairs JAR. Install only one version at a time. This is the complete mod; the optional resource packs are included inside it.

For multiplayer, install the mod on both the client and server. Biomes O’ Plenty is optional and is required only for its wood families.

Built-in resource packs

Open Options > Resource Packs to choose a style. No separate resource-pack ZIP is needed.

Default: plank tops and vertical risers; bark exterior sides.
Wood Stairs (Alternative): plank tops; bark exterior sides and vertical risers.
Wood Stairs (Programmer Art): vanilla-family stairs follow Minecraft’s Programmer Art textures. Enable Minecraft’s built-in Programmer Art pack too.

If you enable both Wood Stairs packs, place Alternative above Programmer Art.

Source and validation

Source code, changelog, and GitHub releases

Build and resource checks passed. The 26.3 Fabric dedicated-server settings initialization also passed. Gameplay, BOP integration, resource-pack switching, and multiplayer still need in-game testing.
