The Light

The Light adds a quiet, non-combat horror presence to your world. A faceless figure split into white and black watches from cover, sometimes floating in the sky and sometimes allowing a moment of direct observation before vanishing when you get too close. It can appear during the day or night in the Overworld, Nether, End, and loaded custom dimensions. Sightings adapt to low view distance, and the figure can appear above fluids.

Encounters include unsettling sounds, rare brief dense fog, strange block markers, blank signs, doors shifting, and campfires going out. After two to four in-game days, an ominous chat message may claim The Light has joined, although it never appears in the player list. The Light does not chase or damage players. Seventeen advancements mark sightings, fog, floating appearances, environmental traces, and deliberate summoning.

Requirements: Minecraft Java 1.21.1, Fabric Loader, and Fabric API. Install the project jar and Fabric API in the mods folder. On a world with cheats enabled, use /thelight summon to test an encounter.

Note: The current release can alter ordinary blocks near an encounter. Back up important worlds before testing it around builds.
