The Universal Pipe

One glass pipe for everything, and you can watch it all go through.

The Universal Pipe adds a single pipe that carries items, fluids, energy and gas at the same time. The pipe is see-through, so you can see whatever it’s moving travel through it. Set up each side with the Pipe Wrench, and fit craftable upgrades to make it reach farther and move things faster.

Features

One pipe for everything

• Pipes join each other, and any block that holds items, fluids, energy or gas, from vanilla or any other mod.
• Everything the pipe carries is visible inside the glass as it moves.
• The metal nozzle on each side changes color to show what it carries: steel for items, blue for fluids, red for energy and green for gas.

The Pipe Wrench

• Every side that touches a block starts on Deliver. Wrench a side and set it to Pull to take things out of that block.
• Right-click a joint between two pipes to disconnect them, and right-click it again to reconnect.
• Sneak + right-click with the wrench to pick a pipe back up.

Simple settings screen

• Tabs pick what a side carries: Universal (everything), Items, Fluids, Energy or Gas.
• Deliver, Pull or Off, with a plain sentence telling you exactly what the side will do.
• Redstone control: always on, only with a signal, or only without one.
• Send to: nearest first, or round robin between every place it can reach.
• Disconnect a side from its block with one click.
• An upgrade slot, with its range and speed shown right beside it.

Upgrades

There’s no creative-only tier. Each upgrade is crafted from the one before it plus harder materials, all the way up to Infinite.

Pack makers can change every number in the config (config/universalpipe-common.toml).

Compatibility

• Works with any mod that uses Forge’s standard item, fluid and energy systems, which is almost every tech and storage mod, with no special support needed.
• Gas support turns on by itself when a supported gas mod is installed. Without one, the Gas option is simply hidden.
• Pipes pull from blocks, and also accept whatever generators and machines push into them.
• Works with shaders.
• Works alongside JEI, so recipes for the pipe, wrench and upgrades show up there.
• Nothing is ever stored inside a pipe, so breaking a pipe or unloading a chunk never loses anything.

Feedback, Bugs and Requests

This mod is actively being worked on, and your feedback shapes where it goes next. Leave a comment if you:

• Found a bug. Say what happened and what you were doing, and include your Minecraft and Forge versions plus your other mods. A crash report or logs/latest.log helps a lot.
• Want a mod supported. If a mod’s blocks don’t connect, or something doesn’t flow the way it should, name the mod and I’ll look at adding compatibility.
• Have an idea. Filters, new upgrades, pipe colors, or anything else you’d like to see.

Updates: new versions with fixes, more compatibility and new features are on the way. Follow the project to get notified, and check each file’s changelog to see what changed.
