About This Port

This port brings the classic Locks mod to newer Minecraft versions using NeoForge, based on the open-source Locks-Unofficial (1.20.1) codebase.

Why “Enhanced”?

Unlike a bare-bones 1:1 port, LocksEnhanced focuses on stability and expanding the classic experience:

Bug Fixes: Resolves various bugs, crashes, and edge-case glitches inherited from older versions.
Mod Compatibility: Adds necessary compatibility patches for other modern mods.
Future Content & Features (No ETA): Additional gameplay features, new mechanics, and content expansions are planned for future updates to broaden the mod’s scope. These will be developed and released over time at our own pace, with no strict deadlines.

This is an independent, community-maintained port developed in accordance with the open-source license of the original Locks mod.
This project is not officially maintained by the original development team.

1.20.1 Base Codebase: Originally ported by Kaleb Langley & Yuqi154 (Please note: The original 1.20.1 project page has since been removed/changed by its authors and is no longer available online. This project builds upon its previously published open-source codebase).

This project is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 Unported License (CC BY-NC 3.0), inheriting the open-source license from the original Locks mod by Melonslise and its earlier 1.20.1 unofficial port.

This project was branched from the open-source Locks-Unofficial (1.20.1) codebase. Please note that the original 1.20.1 project page has since been taken down, altered, or replaced by its creators and is no longer publicly hosted.
LocksEnhanced exists solely to carry this concept forward to modern Minecraft versions.

This port exists to bring classic Locks to newer Minecraft versions while maintaining full compatibility with the modern NeoForge ecosystem.

Please do not contact the original authors for bugs or issues caused by this unofficial port.

The following table shows the current support status of each version.

Future Support

NeoForge 26.1.2 is currently considered the main stable target.

NeoForge 26.2 is not considered the primary target yet because it has only recently released and currently has a smaller modding ecosystem.

Support may move to newer versions in the future when versions such as NeoForge 26.3 / 26.4 provide a larger and more stable mod ecosystem and become the preferred versions for mod development.
