Bee Power (The Bee Generator Mod)

Turn your apiary into a power grid by leashing vanilla or modded bees to generate highly upgradeable Forge Energy!

Welcome to Bee Power! Ever wanted to run your factory entirely on the buzzing energy of your apiaries? Now you can. This mod adds a simple but highly upgradeable Forge Energy (FE) generator that runs on the kinetic energy of leashed bees.

How It Works

Setting it up is super easy. Just place the Bee Generator block down, put any fence block directly on top of it, and use a lead to leash your bees to the post.

Once they are connected, the mod’s custom physics engine takes over. The generator gently pulls the bees into a smooth, hovering orbit around the fence post. You don’t have to worry about them wandering off, scraping the ground, or snapping their leads—the mod keeps them safely tethered in a perfect circle. As they spin, custom animated yellow lightning crackles around them so you can actually see the electricity being generated!

Upgrades & The GUI

If you need more juice, right-click the generator to open up its custom UI. Inside, you’ll see a glowing honeycomb energy bar and live readouts for your active connected bees, generation rate, and total stored energy.

You will also see two color-coded upgrade slots. You can drop Pollen Processors into the left slot to boost your power generation speed, and Nectar Capacitors into the right slot to expand the generator’s internal battery limit. The scaling is carefully balanced, meaning a fully upgraded generator rewards you with massive power without completely breaking your modpack’s progression.

Universal Mod Compatibility

Already playing with other bee mods? No problem. Bee Power uses smart-matching logic, meaning it works with almost any custom bee from other mods right out of the box. Whether you are using vanilla bees, Productive Bees, or Resourceful Bees, the generator just looks for the word “bee” in the creature’s registry name and puts them to work.

Configuration

If you are putting together a modpack or running a server, you can easily tweak the baseline power generated per bee in the mod’s config file to perfectly fit your preferred balance.
