Mayla will follow you, wait for you, or head back home. You can assign her a home or set a bed as her spawn point. If she dies, she gets a grave. If you mine, chop wood, or hunt, she’ll help out—provided you give her a tool. She’ll also defend you against monsters... though not spiders; she hates them and is terrified of them. All this comes with nearly 1,300 lines of dialogue that react to the environment and change based on your affinity with her.
