CTTS Core

The core content mod of the Cogs Through the Storm modpack.

CTTS Core adds the pack’s custom gameplay systems: storms that force you to take shelter, protection against radiation, player plots on floating islands, bunkers to explore, and an Enchantment Library for storing and combining enchantments.

⚠️ This is a companion mod. It is built for Cogs Through the Storm, and several features depend on the pack’s world setup: the hub island, the bunker structures and the Curios charm slot. You can install it on its own, but it plays best inside the modpack.

⛈️ Storms & Hazards

The sky is not safe. After a grace period at the start of the world, a random incident strikes about every 30 minutes. A 60-second warning and an on-screen countdown give you time to find shelter.

• Sandstorm: radiation damage, slowness, mining fatigue, blown dust and gusts of wind.
• Acid Rain: periodic damage, short poison and gradual armor wear. Acid never destroys gear: it stops when a piece has 1 durability point left.
• Status effects and a full-screen overlay show when you are exposed. The overlay is part of the HUD, so shader and performance mods cannot hide it.
• The storm HUD can be moved to any corner of the screen from the client config, so it does not overlap your minimap.

🛡️ Staying Alive

• Radiation Shields: four tiers of charms, from rough glass to the endgame crest. They absorb storm damage from a dedicated Curios slot.
• Anti-Rad Drug: a short-term immunity to radiation. It does not protect you from acid.
• Decontamination Core: a machine powered by RF or burnable fuel. It protects a whole area during storms, and Decontamination Lenses set the area’s size. It uses energy only while a storm is active, and hoppers, chutes, funnels and pipes can feed it fuel automatically.

🏝️ Plots & Hub

• Plot Deeds in four sizes, from Small to XLarge. Use one to create your own protected floating plot, claimed automatically with FTB Chunks.
• Plot Compass points back to your plot. The Plot Eraser removes a plot you no longer need.
• Hub Stone teleports you back to the shared hub island.
• New players receive a starter gift on their first login.

🧭 Exploration

• Bunker Locator: locks onto the nearest bunker, like a lodestone compass. You can reset it with a crafting recipe to track the next bunker.
• Skybloom: a new ore of crystal clusters. Its shards are used across the pack’s recipes, and burning them powers the Decontamination Core.
• Crafting materials: Scrap Metal and Lead Plate.

📚 Enchantment Library

A block that stores your enchanted books as points for each enchantment.

• Click an enchantment to add a level to a book, and Shift-click to remove a level and get the points back.
• Vanilla compatibility rules apply: you cannot combine mutually exclusive enchantments.
• Create Enchantment Industry support: with a seething blaze burner next to the library, you can go one level above the vanilla maximum. This can be changed in the server config.
• The library keeps its contents when you break it and place it again.

⚙️ Configuration

• cttscore-client.toml: the position of the storm HUD.
• cttscore-server.toml (per world): Decontamination Core energy and upkeep costs, and the Enchantment Library over-cap rules.
• Admin commands: /ctts storm now|in <seconds> [sand|acid], /ctts storm stop, /ctts storm status.

• Create and Create Enchantment Industry: blaze burner detection for the Enchantment Library.
