Villager Recruits: Tactical Command

Command your army from above—or lead it from the front.

Tactical Command is a client-side addon for Villager Recruits that brings RTS-style controls, a tactical minimap, and a customizable army HUD to Minecraft. Organize your squads, issue orders, and track your troops without constantly opening individual command menus.

Tactical map controls

• Select individual recruits, entire squads, or saved control groups.
• Issue movement, attack-move, hold-position, and follow orders.
• Manage formations, shields, combat behavior, and ranged fire.
• Assign strategic fire positions and see squad orders on the map.
• Open a recruit’s inventory or individual command menu directly from the map, within the base mod’s interaction limits.
• Transfer your recruits or squads to another online player.

Command from first person

Keep control while fighting alongside your troops:

• Squad cards display names, troop counts, health, orders, behavior, and critically wounded soldiers.
• World markers show squad positions and order destinations.
• Ground highlights make selected recruits easier to identify.
• Vanilla bread indicators show recruits with low hunger.
• Compact command and squad menus provide quick access to your army.

Organize your army

• Save up to nine control groups.
• Give squads custom names and choose their crests.
• Remember formations separately for each squad.
• Combine squads into larger formations of command, such as a left flank or reserve.
• Create configurable order presets to apply several settings together.
• Use separate, rebindable controls for the tactical map and first-person gameplay.

Choose your style

Switch between three interface themes:

• Medieval Headquarters — ornate frames and golden symbols.
• Vanilla Minecraft — familiar beveled panels and pixel-style details.
• Minimal RTS — clean panels and cool-colored highlights.

Includes configurable interface animations, a tactical minimap, English and Russian localization, and an in-game control guide.

Client-side installation

The addon runs on your client. The server must have a compatible version of Villager Recruits, but does not need this addon installed.

Commands use the base mod’s existing networking and remain subject to its server-side rules, permissions, and range limits. The addon does not provide unlimited remote control.

Requirements: Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge, and Villager Recruits 1.15.2.

Default controls

Controls can be changed in the key bindings menu.
