# MGS Origins Expanded

MGS Origins Expanded is a canon-focused Metal Gear character system built around the Origins framework.

Choose from a large roster of Metal Gear characters, each with distinct abilities, passives, strengths and weaknesses inspired by their canonical abilities and combat roles.

### 53 Canon Characters

Play as characters spanning multiple generations of the Metal Gear timeline.

Each character receives a dedicated Origin with mechanics designed around their canonical abilities, equipment and combat identity.

### Tactical Combat

Characters are designed around tactical combat rather than simple stat bonuses.

Abilities, movement, survivability, weapon affinities and special mechanics are combined to create distinct playstyles.

### Pufferfish Progression

MGS Origins Expanded integrates Pufferfish Attributes and Pufferfish Skills to provide progression systems for:

– CQC
– Blade combat
– Cybernetics
– Fieldcraft
– Marksman training
– Specialist abilities
– Stealth

### Firearm Compatibility

The mod provides compatibility layers for modern firearm systems, including:

– TaCZ
– Point Blank

Weapon affinities are additive and are designed to complement the existing weapon systems rather than replace them.

### Epic Fight Compatibility

When Epic Fight is installed, compatible combat systems and character mechanics can integrate with the Epic Fight combat environment.

### Weapons of Miracles Compatibility

Compatible Weapons of Miracles systems are supported where available.

### First Aid Integration

MGS Origins Expanded includes support for localized damage and tactical medical mechanics when First Aid is installed.

Metal limbs and prosthetic mechanics can interact with the First Aid damage system.

### Tactical Movement

Compatibility with Pehkui and ParCool allows the project to integrate with advanced movement and traversal systems when those mods are installed.

## MGS ORIGINS + FIRST AID

For the intended tactical survival experience, MGS Origins Expanded can be combined with First Aid: Tactical Edition.

This combination allows localized injuries and battlefield medicine to become part of the character combat system.

## MGS ORIGINS + FIREARMS

The project is designed to work alongside modern firearm systems rather than replacing them.

TaCZ and Point Blank compatibility provides additional weapon support while preserving their respective weapon systems.

## INSTALLATION

1. Install Minecraft 1.20.1.
2. Install Forge 47.4.10 or newer within the supported 1.20.1 range.
3. Install all required dependencies.
4. Place MGS Origins Expanded in the mods folder.
5. Install optional integrations if desired.
6. Start the game and select an available MGS Origin.
