Unseen’s Better Stronghold + Elemental End Portal — Unofficial Compatibility Patch

Unofficial compatibility patch for *Unseen’s Better Stronghold* and *Elemental End Portal*.

This is a modified version of *Unseen’s Better Stronghold* that replaces the original (vanilla) End portal frames in the stronghold’s portal room with the custom frames from *Elemental End Portal*.

This modified version is designed specifically to allow both mods to work together. It will not function correctly as a standalone replacement for *Unseen’s Better Stronghold* without *Elemental End Portal*, as the modified structure references the latter’s custom blocks.

I created this patch because the author of *Elemental End Portal* claimed that *Unseen’s Better Stronghold* was compatible with their mod, stating that the improved stronghold would also feature the elemental portal. However, upon testing, the improved stronghold would appear, but the *Elemental End Portal* portal would not.

I believe the reason for this is that *Unseen’s Better Stronghold* is part of the *End Expansion – The Lamented Islands* mod, which includes the same improved stronghold plus much more. That mod *does* appear to be compatible with *Elemental End Portal*—something *Unseen’s Better Stronghold* failed to achieve, curiously enough, despite the two being practically identical. For this reason, I decided to modify “Unseen’s Better Stronghold” myself so it would recognize the End portal frames exclusive to the “Elemental End Portal” mod; I did this by completely changing an internal file named “portal_room.nbt”. I recommend not modifying this file if you want to keep the patch working.

However, should the original authors raise copyright claims or similar issues, I will be obliged to remove this patch. Ultimately, full credit goes to them.

This mod requires “Elemental End Portal“, created by fullskele, to function.
