Write a book. Name an Age. Step into a world that did not exist before.

Rivencraft brings the book-writing and dimension-travelling spirit of Mystcraft to Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge. Collect and arrange Symbol Pages to author an Age, or bind a Link Panel alone to discover a random world. Explore libraries, build crystal portals, and contend with instability when your writing asks too much of an Age.

Rivencraft is an independent community project inspired by Mystcraft Legacy—not an official Mystcraft release or a byte-for-byte copy.

What you can do

• Write Descriptive Books with pages for terrain, biomes, weather, seasons, sky colors, celestials, structures, decorations, and more.
• Explore randomly generated Ages and discover pages in Age libraries.
• Store and arrange pages in Notebooks; copy pages at the Writing Desk with paper and ink.
• Travel with Linking Books, Book Stands, and crystal-frame portals.
• Experience Legacy-inspired instability, including decay and environmental hazards.
• Preview destinations with the built-in Legacy-style animation, or use optional Create/Ponder and Immersive Portals integrations.

Getting started

1. Craft an Ink Vial, Ink Mixer, Writing Desk, and Book Binder.
2. Put paper and ink in the Ink Mixer to make a Link Panel Page. Modifier ingredients can change how the link behaves.
3. Put leather or an empty Notebook and the Link Panel in the Book Binder. Name the Age and take its Descriptive Book. Add Symbol Pages to author the Age; a Link Panel alone creates a seeded random Age.
4. Open the book, then click its destination preview to travel. Bring a bound Linking Book for the return trip—automatic Return Links are disabled by default.

Requirements

• Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.264+ in the 21.1 line, and Java 21.
• DynamicDimension AR Edition 0.9.1 and bad packets 0.8.2 are required for Age dimensions. Install the required mods on both client and server.

Optional integrations: JEI, Create (Ponder), Immersive Portals, TerraBlender and compatible biome mods, Serene Seasons (with GlitchCore), and Ruins. Rivencraft runs without these optional mods. Ecliptic Seasons is not currently supported.

Back up the entire world folder before changing mod versions, data packs, or biome mods; Age registry and dimension data need to be restored together.
