# VR Mag Reload

Reload your TaCZ guns with your hands in VR instead of pressing a button.

Hit the reload button with your off hand on the magazine and it comes out of the gun into your hand. Drop it, reach down to your belt for a fresh one, push it up into the mag well until it clicks. If the chamber was empty, grab the charging handle or slide and pull it back. That’s it. No more instant reloads.

Spare mags on the belt are infinite by default, so you never run dry. You can turn that off in the config if you want every mag to come out of your inventory ammo like normal TaCZ.

## Every gun type works its own way

– **Pistols, rifles, SMGs, LMGs** – swap the mag, rack the slide or charging handle if the chamber is empty.
– **Bolt-action rifles** – mag swap, then work the bolt by hand after every shot (pull back, push forward).
– **Pump shotguns and the Kar98** – load shells one at a time from your belt, then pump.
– **Revolvers** – swing the cylinder out (the brass falls out), push in a speedloader, flick your wrist to close it.
– **Double barrels** – break it open, drop two shells in, flick it shut.
– **RPG and grenade launchers** – push the round into the tube.

The reload button also works like the buttons on a real gun. Press it with your off hand away from the gun and the mag drops out on its own. Press it with a fresh mag in and an empty chamber and the slide goes forward.

## What it looks like

The mag in your hand is the actual magazine from that gun’s model, and the gun shows an empty mag well while it’s out. Slides, bolts and pumps move back as you pull them. Dropped mags fall, bounce and lie on the ground for a few seconds. Each step plays the gun’s own reload sound (mag out, mag in, charge) when the gun pack has one, and the controllers buzz when you grab, seat and rack.

It finds the mag, slide and other parts from the gun’s model, so it works with other TaCZ gun packs too, not only the default guns. If a spot is a bit off on some gun, hold your off hand where the part really is and type `/vrmag calibrate mag` or `/vrmag calibrate rack`.

## Requirements

– Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge
– Timeless and Classics Zero (TaCZ) 1.1.8 or newer
– Vivecraft
– Needs to be on the server too. Singleplayer is fine as is.

Works with TACZ VR Compat. Its reload button becomes the grab button, and it won’t snap into two-handed grip while you’re holding a mag.

Players who aren’t in VR, or who join a server without this mod, just get the normal TaCZ reload.

## Config

`vrmagreload-client.toml` has grab distance, belt height (`beltDrop`), belt position (anywhere on the belt, off-hand hip, or front pouch), vibration strength, and switches for manual bolt cycling, flick-to-close and the button mag release.

`vrmagreload-common.toml` has `infiniteMags`.

## Known issues

– Other players don’t hear your reload sounds yet.
– While your off hand is resting on a rifle’s magwell, TACZ VR Compat’s two-handed grip is off there. Hold further forward on the handguard to two-hand it.
