Fork and port version of RLCombat by fonneymunkey for 1.20.1, contains most ported mechanics and extra mechanics merged into this project
Permissions given by author fonneymunkey.

This mod adds critical chance mechanics, offhand combat, shields disabled after taking a fix amount of damage in a short amount of time, extra UI for shields, fixes issues related to attacking throught grass entirely,
adds new mechanics for weapons and armor, causing players and mobs to deal damage based on the weapon they are using, armor types can now have special damage reduction to specific damage types
By default damage types are slashing, blunt and piercing, however this system can handle any modded damage type, all of this is datapack handled.
