Introduction

Welcome to Souls&Likes a lightweight RPG modpack that integrates its mods and their recipes together to create a cohesive experience. Every mod is not its own sidequest, instead systems and items from each mod are all merged together. Enjoy a structured modpack with solid direction and unique progression.

Overhauled Combat System: Completely new combat with Better Combat, Critical Strike, Better Combat Extension and Heavier Weapons.

Various Weapons and Skills: About 10 unique weapon types equipped with special skills with Simply Swords and Spell Engine.

Vanilla-friendly Firearms: Assemble and discharge customizable firearms with Irons Arms ‘n Artifice.

Overhauled Enchanting: Completely new material and exploration based enchanting system with Immersive Enchanting. XP system has been removed entirely and is no longer needed for anvils.

Celestial Weapons: Assemble powerful and awe-inspiring weapons with Celestisynth.

Magic and Spells: Cast from a variety of unique spells with Irons Spells ‘n Spellbooks.

Balanced Tree-chopping: Cut down giant trees one chop at a time with HT’s Treechop.

Decorative Blocks and Furniture: A plethora of building blocks and furniture items by Handcrafted, Supplementaries and Quark.

Quality of Life Features: Many QoL improvements such as double doors, a trowel, inventory sorter and much more thanks to Quark.

Automation: Make machines and entire factories using Create.

Aerial Transportation: Choose from a variety of aircraft to pilot with Simple Planes.

A completely new progression system! Gone are the days of speedrunning Minecraft, now you have to prove yourself through combat. Fight and overcome powerful enemies from Cataclysm, Irons Spells and Spellbooks and Born in Chaos, each enemy drops materials and resources for you to unlock new dimensions and equipment.

Overhauled vanilla combat, now each attack is part of a combo. Critical strikes now use a traditional RPG system requiring you to find weapons and armors that increase your chances of landing powerful blows. Irons Spells adds a magic system that allows casting awe-inspiring spells to crush foes. Irons Arms and Artifice a newly released mod that adds firearms whose designs and mechanics perfectly fit Minecraft. Celestial Weapons that must be unlocked by defeating a boss found in cold biomes.

Hunger has been changed, now food cooked in furnaces and smokers are only half as nourishing instead you will need to create more refined dishes with the various Delights mods to sustain yourself. Saturation is now consumed at half the speed so you don’t need to eat as often but you also heal half as fast now. Find alternative sources of mid-fight healing!

Create has been integrated with many of the recipes in this modpack especially the firearms and aircraft. Assemble various machines to move up the techtree and become more powerful.

Take flight with Simple Planes! Use your Create machines to assemble brand new planes to help you traverse the world and find new enemies.

Compared to its peers Souls&Likes is very lightweight and can run on modest RAM and hardware.

Note: Distant generation from Distant Horizons is OFF by default, turning it on will consume more RAM. To pregen your world use Distant Horizon’s built in pregenerator.
